Presumably when they made the rule they had reasoning. I remember there was a time when the forum was a pretty vicious place to be around. I think the rule has gone to far if we are no longer allowed to shame people for what they do in games. Perhaps we could just post game links with no comment attached instead.

I don't think it's wrong to point out behaviour in games that you object to. The problem arises when you expand the description to personal insults.

Perfectly acceptable: Joe Shmoe pulled a real sleazy move in our game. He did (etc., etc.)

Not acceptable: Joe Shmoe pulled a real sleazy move; I'm pretty sure he licks canine scrota, plural.

It's a fine line, I know. Easier said then done. Sometimes very much easier said then done. Still, please try. By all means shame bad players. Just keep the terms of reference to what happens in their game, and don't speculate about their ancestry, appearance, sexual orientation, dietary habits, etc., and everything will be just fine.

I think I know why owenshooter wouldn't want a thread like this one to exist; I disabled the "global chat" panel because of him (and this other guy, moynul).

Huh. Now that I'm paying more attention to it, there are actually a lot more sub 4.0 players than I imagined. It's like bright yellow cars. Now that I brought bright yellow cars to your attention, that's BRIGHT YELLOW CARS you'll see three of them today.

Ok. Now that I'm watching I'm wondering: how does a player quickly become a sub 4.0 player? Let's build a primer. Build on the list from which a player can choose five (5) attributes and/or styles of play in order to see that rating take a dive.

A. Upon entering a game, especially if your host greets you, saying nothing, or better yet talk about how you are going to destroy him (them) and then after your victory how you are going to have carnal knowledge of their: family member(s), pet(s), furniture, or all of the above.

B. Upon entering a game, a game you have chosen to join, complain about the settings, the map, the ranks of other players, the weather, the Euro, your jock itch.

C. In a large, classic, escalating card game always go for the Oceana bonus. Always. Be sure to take out the stacks of at least two (2) other players, ruining the game for them on your way to your 28th consecutive loss. Well done.

D. Say “good game” to the other player(s) every time a player attacks you early on. You whiney bitch.

E. Then come back and win and talk about how awesome you play.

F. Say “I'll dead beat now” every time you start to loose, then come back later with a huge drop.

G. But you still loose you punk.

H. As soon as an opponent does something you don't like call them a “gay fish.” Or some other epitaph. You choose.

I. Two (2) rounds into a speed game, pout, take your ball and go home, leaving your opponent watching the clock until you are booted. Why does your opponent wait around for the clock to spin down? Please see “F.” Then please see "G." Cheers.

J. Join 1,880 games in a free, fun, community game. Then dead beat in 38.6% of those games. Because you are precious. And you can. You turnip.

K. Bitch about the dice every time you loose a roll, a turn, a game.

L. Talk about your awesome stratagem every time, against ALL f*cking odds your whacked approach wins something. Even though you lose the game. Again.

M. Be angry about, and/or look for conspiracies under the CC carpet with regard to, the luck needed to win… in a game… which is… about… the luck of the rolling dice. That cannot be controlled. But are independant of all sacrificial goats, virgins, and strategy. And yell at the other player(s) as if they cursed you with same said bad luck.

N. Just play drunk.

Ok. I changed my mind. Just choose two (2).

There are many more ways. Try saying "GG easy" when you're about to win
Backstabbing and suiciding right before the round limit are good ways to piss off people as well.

breaking truces is a guaranteed 1-2 for fair play stars for me...
usually spills over into attitude, as well. doesn't affect gameplay, tho - as breaking a truce is usually a good way to gain some ground and/or the victory.

Owenshooter he's right... you definitely have not answered the question he's asking. Why was it banned in the first place?

owen, once you get a job and buy some premium - you HAVE to play this guy, unless he's already foe'd you...

SO I have one. I play doubles against this guy. The game is fine, they win and he gives me what I consider a poor or average rating.

Its no real problem. I dont think its reflective of anything that happened in the game but whatever, everyone has a different opinion on how to rate.

We play another doubles game, rematch, and I leave him the same rating he left me last game- average for all.

Says he cant understand why such a poor rating and foes me.

I would rather see those mentioned in this thread go nameless and without any specific clues given to their identity. We have the luxury at the moment, with so very few posting and reading the forums, to post a name without it de-evolving into grade three (3) back and forth name calling like, "Oh yeah?!? Bugger face!" To which the traditional reply is: "Fatty!"

But we need an asshat thread. I've been an asshat. People will need to get that shit out of their craw.

The most recent asshats I've encountered have foed me after 1 minute a turn speed games when I don't dead beat after they say "gg" in chat. "Game's over dude! Give up! You are wasting my time! Asshat!"

I will turn into asshat dude and take my full time and cash my cards when I can just because they have been a prick.

In that instant? It becomes asshat vs. asshat. I have the advantage of practicing being an asshat for 53 years and raising four (4) sons who are asshats ben asshat.
