Very simple really, the shield shape for all icons.

It's pretty simple really. Everyone just pick a simplified version of whatever they use and we make it a black silhouette, so all of them will be the same, but not the same.

The don't all have to be red. I just liked red on them...

That's a quick edit.

The text wouldn't work for this design all on top or on the bottom. I'd have to redesign it using a ribbon underneath and make the shield smaller.

Yeah.. I have the originals I did without the wind, they are nothing special, and have no effects, here they are.
























note* some of the above are a little blurry, if I was chosen to make them for the next tourney, I would make sure they were clean photos... I would also ask for each clan to pick out the main logo they wanted... I would stick with black backgrounds + the main logo the clan wanted to represent them.

Below is another version with the wind, but I put the clan name above the wind, so it is not blurred... this is another option I could work with.

so acording on polls , only 16 clans will decide what other will need to USe for clan icons???

All clans have the ability to vote, so if only 16 care enough to vote then perhaps the other clans should consider replacing their representative who isn't representing them well.

As for the other design. I hate the wind. It looks tacky and shouts out "I had to add something." Sometimes it is better not to try to add effects for the sake of it. Leave it alone as a plain thing if you must. It looks waaaaay better plain than with wind.

when i create CL5 icons, i ask for every clan leaders to provide me images, what they want to represent hem, so i think that this need to be apply for future. Ofcourse if some clan want to have black silhouette on same shileds, then this clan can give permision, and clan who dont want to have this, can refuse that this represent clan.

Like Qwert, I'd rather our clan use our own logo. Option 1, the one with the shields, is rather bland, and I'm not liking the wind element from the 2nd batch.

The originals with the black background are much nicer.

its not about the final results on the poll, but qwert is quite right on his words.
Mythology has his own icon(wich , in my opinion is one of the best around) so i would be disapointed to have it replaced by option n1.
Same applies of the Tofu robot, i would be disapointed to have that silhoutette instead of the robot.

So my opinion is , only clans that dont bother to create their own icon, should have the "default"one

Agreed, let us design our own. For those clans who don't have someone capable of doing so, I'm sure they have friends in other clans that can take 5 minutes to do something for them.

See that's what wasn't done here. People should have provided icons they use before anything was designed, preferably on a transparent background so that any format could be used and if they didn't have a proper icon, then allow for a stand in icon, so they could come up with one later. it's not the end of the world if a clan doesn't have an icon right now.

I think people are taking it too literal. Either of these sets of icons can be changed to better suit what the clans want, but you need to talk to whoever wins about that. Treat them both like design proposals that can be worked around.

Set 1. Can be replaced with clan's preferred images in format with transparent background to fit in the shield's format. If people want their colour icon, or a different icon what's the big deal? Ask them to make it so.

Set 2. Also can be replaced with clan's preferred images in format with transparent background to be placed on the black background. Again if people want better images, as him/her to change what they used. (Of course originals without the wind effect. )

There's no need to turn it into another big clan forum fight over whose clan images didn't get used, or how you guys are being forced to not use what ever icons you want. I believe it does say in the OP something about some clans might wanting to change stuff? Leehar was asking for a design proposal as such. Tired of seeing clans people get into massive fights over silly things. Stop, think, and negotiate before it turns into another brawl. lol.

As said, these are design proposals for the new theme. Folks will most likely have images catered for their clans, but I think we're looking for a more consistent schematic theme to carry through the clan tab.

Some possible amendments to Option 1

I need a .png version of their logo without the background.

There is a lot of room to improvement/change with this icon.
Creator, does not have to stick necessarly with the red stripes, neither the silhouttes.
I definitly think that , the frame(the shield shape), should be standard for every one , the inside cross could have diff colours for every clan preference and the inside icon could be chosen by the clans (within creator chosen size and transparent).The clans that dont bother to send their own icons or choose colour then, can have the silhouette and red cross created by the artist.

I talk for mine clan icon, not for any other icons.

And if some of this designer dont notice MYT icon its all ready have Shield, so its ridiculous to put Myt icon with Ancient Greek shield , to another Middle Age Knight Shield. And when i look closer this black silhouette ,more look on Jesus with big fork , and not look on Zeus.
And i realy dont understand why all clans icons need to be black silhouette on Knight shields?
Every icon need to be unique , diferent-colorfull, and to represent Clan in right way. For this every clan need to be involve ,and to build hes own icons.

I wonder why they had problems with you for the tourney...

All the CD's want is a basic logo for each clan to be used on the clan tab... as you see, if you click on the clan tab.. not all clans have logos loaded up... all they want is to have avatars for each clan loaded up and uniformed so the site doesn't look like a bloody mess. Is it that hard to understand? wtf.

I unfortunately was not aware this was going on sooner. Anyway, the basic shield with black silhouette just does not do justice to the Myth version Qwert created. The simple shield version doesn't do any clans justice. I would prefer our own version modified to include a frame and meet the size criteria.

I have to completely agree with qwert on this. The new concept looks horrible compared to the icon we already designed for our clan. Use the one we designed, or that any clan designed for them selves, not a generic one for everyone.

lol... it says in that message to send transparent .png versions of existing logos. Qwert's just being a drama queen as usual. Either of those two sets can work with any clan logos. Obviously Kort,pigs etc will want a better icon than the one in the example, but that's because it's just an example... you lot are acting like ignorant design clients who need to see the finished product at the first meeting. No offense. If people want something that works, you have to co-operate and provide the logos that you want used to be put in the frames. If that's full colour logo, then that's what you provide to the artists.
