I think that its need to limit multiple normal game also.
I just want to join one game in circus maximus, and i whas supprised(in negative way)that Crazy Klobber create 50 games(out of 107) in this map,and i can not join any(because im hes foe). This behavior, need to be stop,i dont know how,but creating so many games on 1 map, ruin mine chances to create just one game, and to fill game in normal period. What its purpose of this i dont know, and if someon have any logical explanation, please write.

this doesnt really make sense. there is a limit of 50 regular games already....and if you want to play 50 circus games...you are free to set them up yourself.
if klobber wants to play 50 circus games he is free to do so. and you are not the only one on his foe list. typically anyone who knows how to deploy and attack gets foed... its actually pretty funny really.
if you want your games to fill you can make them private, send out invites, and go to callouts in the forum, and the live chat if need be.
there are countless games available at any given time...its just how it is... if you want to play a game...you can join one already made...except for klobbers...but that is a good thing,
Limit on Speed Games

Okay, saw the
C&A Report on [player]Kid_A[/player], and I decided to be the one to start this. I think there are old suggestions similar to this, but none were able to reference the blatantly obvious point dumping of Kid_A
Concise description:- The title, limit how many speed games any one person can be active/waiting in at once to about 10
Specifics:- I think I've covered these, it's a simple idea
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- Will prevent point dumping, like Kid_A (see link to C&A Report above)
- Will make speed games (sequential ones) go faster because people can focus more on fewer games/will be there at the start of their turn. This is an improvement in my opinion, don't like it when people take 4 minutes to start their turn in sequential speed, but I know premiums are supposed to get unlimited games, so maybe the admins won't like this second part. Either way, the first part sells it in my opinion

Agreed. 10 is well beyond what anyone would legitimately be able to play at once.

I'm chiming in here to politely disagree with the suggestion. Nowadays there are so few speed games to choose from, I don't see the harm in half of them being from the same person.
If a few players are really that bad about taking their turns in speed games or point dumping, can't we just take the privilege of starting speed games away from those very few players?

Well, i just looked at the Speed Games list, i saw 29 games, with 13 different maps up.

and 30 minutes later it's 15 games, 6 different maps including 1 random.
i wouldn't say either example is a long list.

So you think people making 30 Speed games at one time, and playing them all at once is possible?

for some, perhaps. like i said, if people are starting speed games and then abandoning them, they should be punished. but if someone's successfully handling all those games at once, more power to 'em. same as what i thought about tourneys.

I agree (and yes, I was premium for 2 years, will be again this winter).
What about a scaled limit. Or, a limit of 5.
That is, for 2-3 player games, limit to 3 speed games.
For 4 or more, a limit of 4-5. That would allow some flexibility, but not be too draconian.
I know when I have played 3 games at once, (AOR, 2 player mostly) I would sometimes have short waits, but not many, and... I found that if I went over 3, I could risk missing a turn if they all cam at once. That is the real point. Not to keep other players waiting too much.

Well, i know CC wants to find ways to stop people from point dumping. Limiting to the amount of Speed games you can have at once would be a way. I really don't see a reason why people would want to play 10 speed games at once.

Its hard to play 10, but not impossible. Some take a long time to fill though, so 10 isnt unreasonable to need a few on hold while you play 5 or so.
10 is also a fairly small number and if someone is dumping it should be obvious inside of those 10.
I completely agree a limit should be set, and should have been set, but people should not be punished because a few decide to go out with a bang. I cant imagine anyone needs more than 10 though, even if it is possible to play that many.

Its not as much that you even want to play them at once, but set them up. If you set up 5 games, you may very well want to set up 5 more in the middle of those first ones, to insure you have another 5 ready to play. Its very possible, just not on all maps or settings. Even I could manage 10 of some type, and with some settings, they can take an hour to fill or more, so ten is hardly excessive.

You make good points, but if this cap were on just games awaiting players, wouldn't 10 at once be a reasonable limit? The vast majority of players will never reach that cap, and the few that legitimately can play that many games at once, they can always have another 10 waiting for players.

10 is more then well for a limit to speed games. I dont even see how you would handel more without missing turns and why you should want to handle 10 or more at once.
But 10 seems fair to me because some people do. I think it really should be limited, to prevent point dumping.

Does this game include active speed games, or just the awaiting games?

Maximum Speed Games a Player to Create in Awaiting List
Posted: Tue Dec 25, 2012 9:43 am
by HardAttack
Maximum Allowed Speed Games a Player Can CreateConcise description:- Speed games, in waiting list there are many maps in high variety of settings there are. There are moments (not very rare) a player creating a lot of/many speed games, say 8, 10 of them, which is quite annoying.
- There is no way a player can run 10 speed games at a time, to me it is maximum 2, or 3 games a player can run healthily... Exceptions may stay around, but rules are not set to cover exceptions.
- Many speed games a player creates, in those games missed turns, deadbeat situations, whatever unhealthy game play very well expectable, which is a bitter taste for opponents.
- One another negative aspect, when a player creates 8-10 games, it is taking a lot of time for other game makers games to get filled. Mostly due to game list is getting huge, and our single maybe two games are lost or tough to be seen in the mesh/mess.
Specifics/Details:- For above stated reasons, i believe setting a maximum number for a player to create speed games will do a good job. How many ? I am not sure but to me 4 is quite good call.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:- Well, i believe this is going to increase the efficiency of use of speed game environment.
Thanks in advance.
