I remember from "The Tower of Babble" onto now. I started posting frequently less than two weeks after I joined the site.

It must be changing more frequently over the years because I started at 19 and I haven't been here all that long. Personally I think "grunting and straining" aught to be next. EDIT: "aught" to "ought"

I realized that this is the one time a year I am relevant on these forums. They should change the name more often.

In the old days, users would request a change and a poll would be held and then lack would implement it. That system worked for a while. Then it got moved backstage to the Mod area, where all the Team CC volunteers could vote. The same system, just a smaller pool of voters.

I don't recall us having much say in what the forum name would be. Could be wrong, but I don't remember us posters having that much say in things.

Here is one example.
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3824&p=59397&hilit=Social+lounge#p59397 For some reason I thought AoG's "Let's have a vote" thread was official and resulted in "Whe the Wild Things Are", but the path was more indirect than that.

That was 2006, when the site was considerably smaller in number and things were just kicking off. Since I've been on, we've always had poll threads talking about how much we liked the new name, or threads demanding it go back to its previous name by the loudmouth noob of the month. But never what name we wanted. We got polls with possible names that we may like, but those rarely ever went our way, so they eventually just stopped doing them.

Updated. note how I dealt with the tie. Also, there was a major update, as i added a forum name that wasn`t on the Official Mod List. Every day my list gets more accurate and that one gets less. The Singularity is nigh. List of Stale Jokes 1) Tea-Party Death Squads
