Greece 2004 victory wasn't lucky... They deserved to win. IMO, that was the finest defensive show ever with a classy organization and teamwork mentality which didn't depend on a superhero inside the team!

P.S. While my favorite team in this tournament is Russia, I think Germany has the best chance to win the title because they are very serious and solid!

They won the world cup and the euros and they are easily the best team on paper. You say they "lucked" their way through but I would say they did it by playing total football, they beat the Dutch at their own game and your only response was to get Van Bommel to kick them. They are the best team, whether they win the tournament is a different matter.

Well, I think Spain are the best team in this tournament but pressure may get them, it's why I wouldn't think they are gonna win again!

I don't know if they are overhyped, but they are not lucky, they fucking have the ball all the time, almost like barcelona, so i hate that kind of game.

Spain's not overhyped, Xavi's been underhyped.
But now he's not as good as he used to be, and Spain, in spite of still being a great team, probably won't win.
But I agree on the "they fucking have the ball all the time" part, that's not Football if you ask me.

Spain with Torres upfront doesn't seem all that scary to me. France, ze Germans, or the Dutchies.

Nobody said that, we said they are the best team in the tournament and they are clearly the favourites. That doesn't mean they will win, it means they are most likely to.

No one has said that Spain will win because they won the WC. Nor has anyone said that that's how it works in football.

You are being overly derisive of the abilities of the team that beat your team in the WC final, and that type of behaviour reeks of sour grapes. Especially when you consider that Spain still has a very good team.

for the record ireland have no chance in winning but if we do manage to get out of the group stages then we'll get to the quaters i think. spain and italy in our group though so i aint holding my breath.
