Ok, Fractured America is out. Going to wait to see that all 24 teams join, then try to get the other 4-team games out this week.

North America invites out. V.J. has asked for a couple days to re-up to premium, so that will delay one game on each map. If he can't come through in a couple days, I will be asking his teammate to have a replacement or move to the alternates. Aside from that, everything is off and running.

So all the 4-team games are moving.

3-team games are created and invites will start tonight, I hope.

2-team games will be last, obviously.

Scoreboard will be in the 2nd post once games start ending.

All 3-team games are now out.

2-team games are going to be held until at least one of the first 10 maps is totally finished. That should time things so that all levels of games begin to end around the same time.

please see game 10519970 there has been what i would consider a sitter violation where one sitter (posting as "dragon play" and I therefore assume being dragon dor) has taken turns for both team 2 and team 4. these are foggy games so i consider this highly unacceptable and verging on collusion.

If that is the case that it is the same guy it surely should be against the rules.

Ok. Let me take it to the tournament organizers to see what kind of ruling they make.

Tournament organizers deferred to the multi-hunters. This does appear to be a violation and the players concerned are going to be warned by the multi-hunters.

As far as the tournament goes, I do not feel I can issue an official sanction for a first offence like this. For two reasons: 1) there was no clear punishment spelled out in the rules for violations & 2) the only reason we know about this offence is because dragon dor posted in the chat and let us know. It seems inherently unfair to punish two teams because their sitter followed one rule, but by doing so disclosed he was violating another. Although it's unsavory it very well may have been a complete accident and I don't want to discourage people from posting that they are sitting. So...

1) No punishment for this game so long as dragon dor or anyone else only sits for one team going forward
2) Any further violations in this game or any others will result in a replay of the game(s) if the violators win the games(s) in question and if the points from the game(s) could determine the tournament winner*

*in other words, I'll hold back the points and wait until the end of the tournament to order a replay--it won't be immediate

Hope that makes sense and comes across as fair to everyone.

more evidence that dragon dor is playing for 2 teams:

10519951 djelebert: dragon play

10586425 2012-02-28 11:22:16 - DJoach: dragon play

10519943 2012-02-15 08:35:28 - DJoach: dragon play

10519970 2012-02-15 16:01:03 - DJoach: dragon play

10519970 2012-02-16 15:46:55 - djelebert: dragon play

Other than Game 10519970, though, which has already been addressed, this seems to be a different issue, though.

He's sitting in different games, which to my knowledge is fine. There's no site rule that says sitters can't sit for two different players just because they are in the same tournament together. If there was, that could make things extraordinarily complicated for sitters in large tournaments.

I'll check things out, though. But for now, the issue is what happened in Game 10519970. If that happens again, I'll take action. But it doesn't look like the new stuff in 10586425 and 10519951 is a violation.

If you think he's acting as a multi, rather than a true sitter, that's an entirely different issue and beyond my scope as a tournament organizer. If you believe that, I suggest you file a report in the cheating & abuse forum

Canada map complete. Board updated.

Central America map is out. 4 more games coming for each team... hopefully this week.

Very tight battle at the top, with no one really standing out yet. Some of the 15-point games that will be decided soon could really swing things.

Board fully updated. Things are taking shape at the top of the table, but it's still wide open. 32 games remain at this point.

7 of the 15 maps are finished. We are certainly winding down, but some of the 4-team games are clearly going to take a bit of time.

Board fully updated. If your team name is in red, you are eliminated from championship contention (there are two teams in red that could reach 85 points, but both of them would lose tiebreakers).

Three teams are alive. There are 9 games active but if you look closely, only NYC #1 & #6 and Fractured America #5 matter.

Board updated. Down to 7 active games and two teams still alive. It all comes down to what happens in NYC #1.
