I really don't. In fact, I think its great that he does. If someone needs help in real life, and he is in a position to help, and does, he should be commended. I would hope all of us would help a fellow player if the situation arose.

Of course, its speculative as to what he did to help, maybe he paid off a mortgage, or maybe he gave some relationship advice.

Either way, its commendable and as long as mods aren't giving unusually favorable treatment, there is absolutely nothing wrong, and its horrible to suggest there is.

In this particular case, you are suggesting he is breaking the rules and he simply isn't. You disagree with the farming rules, and are using him as an example. The farming rules however have been in effect for a very long time, and were sculpted with quite a bit of input from the community, and while they are not perfect, they are hardly corrupt.

In any case, its somewhat irrational to suggest that CC is holding back reform of its farming rules because some guy is helping a mod by suggesting that she should indeed dump that drunken idiot of a boyfriend who cheated on her....or whatever else he may have done to "help a fellow mod in their personal life". Further, the mods have banished and punished and....this is not confirmed... bound and duct taped other previous mods for previous violations, so its simply unrealistic to suggest they would overlook what they consider rule breaking in any situation.

I sincerely apologize for taking all the fun out of this, but I am almost positive this is the actual situation here.

You're not following. Most people believe the farming rule needs to be revised, to stop what ___ has been doing, which has now gotten him to the top of the leaderboard. But for years the mods or the powers to be have turned a blind eye to what the players here want, and I wanna know why. Is it because this guy helps the mods in their personal lives?

No.
It's because of some stupid precedent (farming 5-).

And because the ref is always right, especially when he's wrong.

Is there a reason you are allowed to continually bait and troll on these forums? And let's not forget how you continue to use GLG's real name after he specifically had it changed to avoid its usage. Add yet another infraction to your already-growing list.

Is it because you help the mods in their personal lives?

I'm not using his real name, i'm using his old conquerclub username. Show me the rule that states you can't refer to a player by his old username. If you show me that rule, than I'll edit my post.

So what you're saying is that you're technically and legally in the right, even though what you're doing might be construed as morally wrong?

lol what exactly is morally wrong about using someone's old username? i see you have posted in both threads for GLG. I guess he's "helped" you out in your personal life as well.

I haven't posted in as many threads as you quite yet, though. If posting in two threads and sort-of-but-not-really defending someone means he must have "helped" me out my personal life, what does your level of obsession suggest? What did he do?

This can't be healthy. I worry for you.

No they don't. You're using an imaginary majority to lend credibility to your argument.

Most people in fact don't give a flying fuck about farming rules. Also, there's the small matter that the kind of changes you propose for farming rules would destroy CC.

The whole concept of farming non-NR:s is laughable. It supposes that some people, because they have a lower rank, are too stupid to make their own decisions, that they have to be "protected" from making those choices, that we shouldn't let them enter games where they (gasp!) are very likely to lose!

Firstly, rank doesn't reflect skill. Low ranks can be very skilled, maybe they just don't care about points or rank and play games for fun.

Secondly, if someone with low rank, or low skills even, wants to challenge himself against a much more skilled/experienced player, even though he knows he will almost certainly lose... that is their right. They can make that choice for themselves. They don't need Master Bush holding their hand, warning them of the big bad wolves who only want their points...

Farming rules for NR:s are understandable on the grounds that NR:s tend to deadbeat a lot more than non-NR:s. Even so, I would remove the rule that says you have to stop creating certain games is lots of NR:s join them - it's punishing players from something that's not within their control, just because they like playing certain maps & settings.

Rock the f*ck on MB, this is like your 3rd GLG thread in a month brah! You're really whipping these pupps out there. I'm a huge fan of your personal vendetta + mod hate campaign = ultra satiated fantasy project you got going on here in the fora as of late.. Really rooting for you on the sideline, you've been putting in a lot of effort. Hoping you pull through unscathed and become a better person after all this is said and done.

I completely agree. I think the only change to the farming rule could possibly be raising the number of games that a player would become off limits to farming, and 10 to 20 would be that upper limit, and there are real dangers of doing even that.

Too many limits on game choice would absolutely destroy the game and do far more damage than a few people running up their score ever could.

The vast, vast, majority, really don't care what other people are doing, who they are playing or what their score is. To some degree, weather accidentally, or purposefully, every single player has farmed to some extent of the word, and that is simply the game itself. One cannot underestimate the fun of playing players that are more experienced, because the learning curve is much higher that way.

Ive joined Herpes in many a Mogul slaughter and Id be surprised if I won 25%, but I enjoyed trying to beat him. I essentially was farming myself in his fields, and losing quite a few, but I absolutely knew what I was doing, and enjoyed playing the game...I realize this analogy isnt the same as pure farming, but to some degree...anyone realizes that by playing a game for the first few times, they probably will be disadvantaged in winning....if new players have the same chance of winning as more experienced ones...its not even a game, its a friggin lottery.

In any case, this is clearly a personal vendetta anyways, and the entire farming issue is really a red herring justification for it, and obviously so.

I'm pretty sure what I did a couple of years ago (incidentally when I had my highest score ever) could be termed "farming". I would create dozens of World 2.1 quads, and then let whoever joined, join. Quite often the other team would be composed of lower ranking players.

Obviously that's different from private games created to most easily gain points, but at the end of the day no one joins a game they don't want to. There could be an argument for raising the "game limit" before someone is "fair game", but not by much. I'm sure most of us naturally have a quite condescending view of low-ranking players. Ultimately though, there only difference is that they aren't as good at CC as some of us are (and some of us aren't as good as some others). I joined a few games with quite higher ranking players in my newbie days, and I would have been annoyed if I had been told I wasn't allowed.

I think it's the "within the rules" part I have issue with it. Why is it deemed within the rules by the mods? The fact that he seems to help them in their personal lives, as he stated, makes this whole thing extremely fishy. Does he mean he helps them financially? What does "I help your mods, etc. in their personal lives." mean? Am i the only one who sees the problem here? He admits to helping mods in their personal lives, and in the meantime, he seems to get away with a farming rule.

Wow, so obtuse:
-what I do is within the rules because it's NOT Farming. "Farming" is restricted to vs unranked ?-New Recruits. . .duh. What don't you get about that? I play RANKED players -- NOT new unranked recruits.
-I help mods: is it ANY of your business how, or to what degree? fFs, it's a player being NICE to others -- without asking in return. What, do you only help people if YOU get something in return? No thx.
-glad to hear "this is the last you'll have to say on GLG tactics" (yawn)
