i dont think they should be banned but it should not be taken lightly either.every one comes from diff. backgrounds and life styles. but if someone belives one thing we dont have to belive the same thing. racisim is a big concern in all cultures and has been around forever. and i dont want to throw religon around but through ones eyes we are all the same and thats all that matters.

Good point. I agree. That's the best way to solve these issues. But now and then there will be an exception to the general rule like these Alliance morons. Apparently they just want to bitch and destroy the community. So f*ck them. Even though I against any kind of censur, some blatantly anti-social behavior cannot be tollerated.

Well, if i'm not mistaken, lack said that he won't do anything about what is said in the game chats. He wants there to be some flame allowed, people like to trash talk. the racism is pretty dick, not in good fun, but what is the best solution here? Should lack or twill step in and put a hand in somewhere they said they wouldn't before, or do we all just add the bigot to our ignore list so we just don't have to deal with them at all.

I don't want to tell you guys to get over it or not be pissed off, you have every right to be, but in the end, where does it get you. You end up angry, and no matter what happens he'll still be laughing about it behind the safety of his computer screen.

No one here is, or should be, in the business of telling people how to think. People have every right to be wrong regardless of how it makes someone feel. The intent should not be considered when looking at insults. Who is going to be able to judge who dealt the most heartwrenching blow. A joke about someone's mother could be nothing to one, but destroy another inside. Its too subjective to look at intent or anything.

The best solution? Just put them on your ignore list. Let them say what they will, but they won't be saying it to you. It sucks to have to deal with it. I'm sorry that you did, and i'm sorry that you probably will have to again, but what else can we do than to not give them the satisfaction?

Sorry, this was a pretty broken up post, i think i touched on a lot of stuff. Um...yea.

Just an afterthough, the biased poll doesn't help the cause.

On the poker site that i play on - If someone reports you for swearing or abuse - they look into the text (if you give the game numbers) and if its deemed bad enough they give you a 1 month chat ban

get caught again - 3 month chat ban

3rd time? - You're out of the site

I swore like a trooper at one bloke, who reported me, and sfter getting my chat ban lifted.... I didn't swear at the tables - unless i knew everyone at the table was cool with swearing.

The chat ban - stops you from texting in forums and table chat
