I don't. I think it's a local nickname. I live more than 6000km (3750miles) from there.

I meant you in the "Canadians" sense of the term.

I think it's cool... "Yeah, dude, I'm from Van City."

Well there's Van City, and North Van, and probably other abbreviations for various areas in the Vancouver metro area, used by locals mostly.

Almost related: I'm pretty sure only people from southern Ontario call Toronto, "T dot" (from the abbreviation T.O.).

I like Van City better than T dot.

As do I. Both the name, and the place.

If any country won the Stanley Cup, it was Canada.

http://bruins.nhl.com/club/roster.htm
17 Canadians out of 26 players

http://canucks.nhl.com/club/roster.htm
18 Canadians out of 33 players

Game 1
1/1 goal scored by a Canadian.

Game 2
4/5 goals scored by Canadians.

Game 3
7/9 goals scored by Canadians.

Game 4
4/4 goals scored by Canadians.

Game 5
1/1 goal scored by a Canadian.

Game 6
5/7 goals scored by Canadians.

All four goals in the final game were scored by Canadians.

So that's 26 out of a total 31 goals in the series that were scored by Canadians.

Of course, Boston did have a pretty good American goalie....

Accept defeat, it might make you a better man eh?

Or you could go half ass kick some windows with thousands of your fellow fanboys

Everyone knows canadian BORN players rule hockey. Its a fact. Just like white men rule golf (let's face it, every since tiger lost his side pieces he's garbage). Get over it, there's always the olympics ;)

The fact is, wether in Montreal of Vancouver, there is people who are not actual hockey fans ( they however dress as fans..) who are there to break up stuff and '' f*ck the city '' as many people said.

I am Canadian and live in montreal, and I see pacific crowd of peopler when canadians win. Or if they lose. However sometimes, a handful of people start breaking stuff up and, innevitably, some idiots join up in the riot.

It's sad, but a few stuck up asshole can do some major damage.

Not mentionning a lot of people that rioted were drunk...-.-

What exactly did I lose again?

I just pointed out that Canada produces the best hockey players who perform even better when the games become more important. That feels like a win to me....

Hannibał wrote:Or you could go half ass kick some windows with thousands of your fellow fanboys

Did you assume I am a Vancouver fan?

Am I too late for the riot??!?

When's the next flight?

I wanna "half ass kick some windows". Whatever that means....

"canadian BORN players"

Not just Canadian born hockey players. Canadian born. Canadian raised. Canadian trained. They are Canadian in every sense of the word.

They only play in America because that is where there are more large cities that can support major league sports teams.

And the reasons why Canada Rules Hockey are nothing like the reasons black guys think golf is a pussy sport.

Touche to all replies. I thought you were being hateful because a american funded team won, when you assume you make a ass of yourself.

Lmao @ black guys thinking golfs a pussy sport. Its def a weak sport, but I think its more of a "class" thing, doubt 50 cent rushes to sign his children up for polo, lacross or rubgy (with the last 2 being far from pussy).

Back to canada winning, I read today in the news/rumors that Jagr may be returning to the NHL and playing for Montreal

I'm not hateful at all. I always like playing against Americans and I liked the players that I got to know. Canada has a good hockey program and a high percentage of premier Canadian athletes focus on hockey (as opposed to other sports) and that explains our success in hockey.

Golf is certainly an expensive sport to play. I can't really comment on polo, lacrosse, or rugby. Never played any of them, although I wouldn't think lacrosse and rugby are expensive sports to play. Some of the best (and I understand roughest) lacrosse teams around here are the First Nations teams. My cousin's son plays professional lacrosse: http://www.swarmitup.com/AndrewWatt.htm

I hope Montreal ties for last place with Ottawa next season.

LOL! You have a valid point, Timminz. It's pretty pathetic, when one contemplated the matter and implications.

I don't believe that too many Torontonians refer to their beloved city as "T dot". That is not spiffing. I used to live near Toronto, and I haven't ever heard the phrase.

Really? Didn't like 500 people die in riots after the Red Sox won the World Series?

Boston is up there in the "Shittiest Sports Fans" rankings. Depending on who you ask, they are either just behind or just ahead of Philadelphia.

It wasn't a riot, it was a party.

And I like what TGD said. Both Boston and Philly fans are shitheads. I hate them all with a passion. But, there is also a problem with fans from a city such as DC, aside from fanatics such as myself who believe in their teams through thick and thin, because of the fact that there are lots of other things going on throughout the city (political shit, terrorist worries, construction in the city, traffic and how to find the quickest way home, etc) that they kinda just don't give a shit. And when they do give a shit, then they are basically just bandwagon fans.
