Hi guys, I have always wondered why us townies are so eager to lynch on the first day. i just read a dutch maffia guide, but I am not all to familiar with the game. I any body who can help me out is apprecaited

Because any lynch is better then no lynch for the most part. You get information to go off of with a lynch, quite a bit more in fact then a no lynch. Let's say a couple players throw their vote on a certain player in the game and that player begins to panic. You may be able to get them to claim, or maybe see if they trip over their own words and lie about something(Scumtell), or start acting really peculiar due to the pressure(Again, scumtell). Some peeps just can't handle it. Granted, there are times when a no lynch could be beneficial, but for the most part a lynch is better.

Also, lets say two people vote for player C in a game this size and before player C even gets a chance to claim, two more players come in and hammer him(Get him lynched). Odds are good, especially if player C turns up town, that one or both players who voted him before he had a chance to claim are scum. So again, gives you a starting point for the next day.

Finally, having people vote for others forces them to give reasons and make arguments(Not day 1 so much, but every game starts from nothing). These votes and discussions that people start allow you to see patterns in their play style, other players they may be distancing themselves from(Scumtell), or players that although are scummy acting just don't get votes from certain people. So, all good reasons to vote and start with something. You never know where it will lead you.

Okay I have read the english version as well. Statistics dictate that the first player that did not vote is scum. so.

Right now, everyone is basically random voting. None of them are all that serious. However, I'm interested to hear where this idea that the first player to not vote is scum comes from. I've never heard that before

Yea, I couldn't find a good enough translator so I will have to take your word for it.

Ok, we need to lynch someone. Im going to keep my vote where it is as I'm not sure I like the meta-ruling going on Perhaps a mafia goon trying to twist the rules to their own ends?

EBWOP, when I say lynch someone I mean today. Nobody has any leads and we can't go with a no lynch as that only helps the mafia.

I will unvote vote saxdude though. Jumping on the newbie seems retarded when he was just going by what he read. I don't know whether your vote was serious or not, but you earned my vote.

For some reason this game seemed to have died the moment it began. Why aren't people playing?

The day will result in a no lynch if there are not enough votes.

Well, no reason to no lynch. Let's do this right the first time peeps. Either Sax needs to claim or someone need to get in here and hammer!
