No you are right, that is against the rules here.

All chat pertaining to gameplay shall be done in the game chat area of that game. Anything other then that is a violation of the rules. They will either get a Block from playing together in the future or a Warning. Either way it was a good call bringing it to their attention.

So even a subtle hint like that in PAF should be visible to all players. After all, you are not trying to hide anything right? Maybe you are letting your ‘friend’ know he is messing up, maybe you like him to feel endepted. Either way, ALL chat in a NON-team game SHOULD be in gamechat..

How can you say "thus the OP's reference wallmsg is indeed an SD" when they were team mates?

Team mates can't have secret diplomacies, thus the OP's wall message is not an SD it is a perfectly legitimate thing to do.
