I'm all for apps to improve the game play, but they must be integrated into the game.
Just be honest, as it stands now. IT IS A GAME CHEAT!
It's not a game cheat. It's simply sending information to the server in a different way than selecting from the drop-down menus.
Actually, it just offers another (more intuitive) way of moving, which happens to be faster. It uses the same way for sending the information.
ummm, ARE YOU GUYS POLITICIANS?
It allows you to more much more quickly than someone using a drop down menu i.e. huge advantage in freestyle. I'll make an MP3 for you and you can listen to this while you sleep, maybe then it will sink in. ITS A CHEAT!
I find it rather strange that you continue to play freestyle 1vs1, despite the fact that you're still complaning about it and various players have given you the advice of either use clickies yourself or play sequential instead. I have never used clickies before and I can still win some freestyle games, there is absolutely no way that it's a cheat.

I don't understand why you won't consider reasoned arguments; you're just shooting down what we're saying without a consideration. natty_dread is right - no one is going to take you seriously if you won't take the rest of us seriously.

I enjoy playing that style, just as you enjoy a certain game style yourself. I'm not going to run away or use a game cheat just because everyone else does. That attitude is too widespread as it is. "absolutely"???? it's not a fact, it's an opinion.

But you'll use this if it's implemented sitewide as a built-in feature?
Unfortunately, mr. Dog, you don't get to decide what is or is not cheating on this site. The official stance of the site is that the browser plugin known as Clickable Maps is allowed, and is not cheating. You can keep saying "IT IS CHEATZORS!!!!11111" all you want, you can believe what you want, but in the real world saying or believing something does not make it so.
To make it easier to understand: let us say there was a canoeing contest. You enter the contest, and notice that every other contestant is using a paddle, even though you only use your bare hands. Does this make the other contestants cheaters? No, because the organizers have specified in the contest rules that using a paddle is acceptable. You can yell at them all you like, and say "not everyone can afford paddles! using a paddle is cheating!" but it will not make the organizers disqualify the other contestants.
SgtMadDog wrote:It's my opinion that the clickable maps app is an unfair advantage in freestyle games which forces users to either install the app or not play freestyle games. If in this case the clickable maps option is not standard for all games isn't it then in reality a "game cheat"?
Is it an advantage? Of course, it clearly is. Is it a cheat? Of course not, it just as clearly isn't. How can it be a "cheat" when it is sanctioned by the site?
SgtMadDog wrote:Of course, then it would be the same for everyone. as it is now its a cheat.
If it were a built-in feature of the site, I would leave. I do NOT like clickable maps, personally.

I dont need it made any easier to understand. I clearly do.
I'll use your analogy and make it easier for you to understand, the said contest rules have some players up "shit creek" without their sanctioned paddle. Its acceptable but sure smells funny!

Really? If they make them optional, how is it different from the current situation?
I know you're a bright guy. So I know you can follow the context of MadDog's question that "If in this case the clickable maps option is not standard for all games isn't it then in reality a "game cheat"?" followed by his statement of "Of course, then it would be the same for everyone."
Focus on the phrases "not standard for all games" and "the same for everyone".
He's not talking about making it optional.

Don't care, can't get fast enough internet speed and living in Ireland I am a small bit away from the server. It's great for sequential though kinda like when the wheel was invented

QFT. I only play sequential, and you can pry clickies from my cold dead fingers. So much better than the stupid dropdowns that it's a joke, especially when it comes to dropping 1's in fog games.

Well it doesn't really matter what maddog is talking about since he doesn't decide these things. I've been under the impression that if/when the clickies get implemented they will be implemented as an option.

What you're saying here doesn't really make sense. Presumably the reason he feels Clickable Maps is a "cheat" is because some players do not actually have access to it (for example, they use a browser that isn't Firefox or Chrome), not because some people choose not to use it. If it were implemented as an option, then everyone could choose to use it if they wanted to, and so it can't be a cheat, because the situation is the same for everyone - you can choose to use Clickable Maps, or you can choose not to use it. The problem with the status quo is that (supposedly) some people cannot choose to use it.

That's all well and good, but it was HIS STATEMENTS that I was responding to. Geez.

If you read what he is saying, that is absolutely NOT what he is saying. He has stated explicitly that if clickable maps is not STANDARD FOR ALL GAMES then it's a "game cheat".

You must be misunderstanding what he's saying. There's no difference between it being a built-in option for everyone, and it being automatically deployed for everyone, because people who don't want to use it simply won't click the maps. The only pragmatic difference in making it an option is so that people can turn it off if they're afraid of accidentally clicking the map and making an unintended move. There's no other difference.

How could I misunderstand his explicit statement that if clickable maps is not STANDARD FOR ALL GAMES then it's a "game cheat". It really doesn't leave any wiggle room.

I don't know, but apparently you are misunderstanding it. If clickable maps is available in every game then his condition is met. The fact that you can turn it off is completely irrelevant, because functionally it's the same as just not clicking the maps.
If you still fail to comprehend this, then just stop talking for him and let him speak for himself.
