That'd be true if I had said "inferior

BTW, I was not being condescending nearly as much as I was engaging in existentialism. The useful idiots are the ignorant masses that Lenin referred to as being neccessary for any communist revolution.
Speaking of ignorance, you seem ignorant of the meaning of existentialism. Ironic.
You're still being condescending. It's OK when you merit it, like I do. Unfortunately, you don't. Sorry, you can't join the club.
You have added no value to this discussion. I said to name three good things about Obama and you can't do it. You are dismissed.
Oh snap! A junior Neocon taking shots at Obama! What a delightful digression from the usual fruitferGlennBeck crowd.
News flash for you genius - it doesn't take a fooking rocket scientist to see that Obama is an asshat. Problem is that folks like you choose one asshat over another asshat and feel superior about it. Wtf?

They look down on these demonstrations and laugh. They don't care if Obama is president or Pence is president, as long as an IDRP candidate is sitting in the White House. You're gladiators in a ring. But, at the end of the day there's only one winner: Caesar.

There is zero chance of that happening through ballot-box politics.
Once the Democrat Party succeeded in permanently eradicating the People's Party and the Republican Party succeeded in permanently eradicating the Silver Republican Party a decision was made that the threat of continued national fracture through the turbulence wrought by the theretofore successful American third party movement was too great a risk.
The IDRP has spent the last 100 years solidifying their grip on power.
That said, for Americans,
there actually are some benefits of the one-party IDRP system. Part of the global political and military strength the U.S. enjoys is not simply through force of numbers. If the U.S. were not able to maintain a 90% absolute status quo in foreign affairs from presidency to presidency it would enjoy only a fraction of the world influence it does. This stability allows the U.S. to operate a de facto system of global taxation through the sale of, essentially worthless, Treasury securities to sovereign governments.
The DPRK, for example, couldn't move ten miles south of the DMZ without running out of fuel, food and ammunition. Why are 40,000 American troops in the ROK? Because Japan and the ROK have made more than US$1 trillion in tribute payments to the U.S. government (via the worthless "Treasury Securities" and other instruments) and the U.S. demands the tribute checks keep coming. That's how statues of Robert Byrd in West Virginia are built, highways in California are constructed and farmers in Iowa get paid for not growing crops.
The minute the real outcome of the destruction of the IDRP is shown to any American, they back way off on the demands for things like a gold standard, competitive presidential elections, public disclosure and graftless government. (as they should - nations act in their own interest; there is nothing immoral in nature) But it necessarily happens in private. If it happened in public you wouldn't get 500,000 German drones mindlessly drooling at the majestic arrival of the Augustine Emperor in Berlin for a pre-coronation tour of his provinces.
Speaking of that last point, if it ever gets translated into English you should read this book -
http://www.amazon.de/Die-deutsche-Karte ... 390247534X - by a retired general officer of the Bundeswehr and head of West German intelligence. It was panned in Germany because the reality of what he detailed was too uncomfortable for anyone in a cozy little red-green social-democracy like Germany to accept so they dismissed it as sensationalism. But it was true, true ... it needs not be pointed out that next month it will have been 30 years since the train station in Bologna, Italy was temporarily closed for repairs ...

He's got a lot better name recognition nation-wide than does Mike Pence, though this morning I did recall that I've seen his name before, but I still can't recall any specifics about him unlike with Ryan. Ryan's "Roadmap" is very reminiscent of Gingrich's "Contract with America," and I think Republicans will do a lot better this fall and in 2012 if they unify around a message along those lines.
I did not see you mention Paul Ryan but I am not familiar with him.
Doc_Brown wrote:Ah. You're one of those guys that listened to all the spin about Paul "blaming America" and being part of the "9-11 truthers." In reality, he was advocating the same foreign policy that Bush did back in 1999 and 2000. It's too bad the former liberals turned the dominant foreign policy theory of the Republican party into neoconservativism. The traditional conservative position has its roots in libertarian thought, while the neoconservatives continue in the liberal Wilsonian thought. I guess it makes sense that if you don't really want the government to be any smaller but you also want it to be less intrusive in your life that you decide to make it more involved in foreign countries.
I'm not one of those guys that bought anything from anyone. I watched the debates and I watched as Paul condemned any military action in Afghanistan. As for all your stuff about what I want regarding big government, I don't know where you get that.

I'm supposed to be worried about that? I don't know that all of those statements are accurate and if they are then I still don't know if all of her facts are accurate. In any event, she looks like a strong voice of reason on important matters. I could care less about looking for insignificant flaws beyond the pale.
Doc_Brown wrote:I lived in Florida for much of Bush's tenure as governor, and I'd be okay with him as president, all things being equal, and I think he would have done a better job than his brother. But we haven't had a great track record with that family in the White House, and I don't think the country would stand for another Bush. Regardless of Jeb's policies, if he was the nominee, he'd do about as well as a brother or son of Richard Nixon would have in 1976 or 1980.
Ironically, I lived in Texas for 2 year's of George's gov term. He was a solid governor too. As far as the country standing for another Bush, I don't agree with that at all. There were a lot of loud mouth haters and the elite media railed against him. Look at how they were on their megaphones about the wars and the economy. It was death counts and unemployment numbers every day. With a war still going and unemployment much worse, the media has all but washed that away. I could care less about that 'country.' As far as I'm concerned those a-holes deserve a lifetime of every Bush that comes there way.

Just so I'm clear, telling a crowd that Obama isn't doing a good job as president really excites you about her ability to do a better job?
Seriously, Governor Brewer may be well qualified, and there are probably other videos of her speeches that have a lot more content to them. That video doesn't do anything but make you look bad.

I'm sorry she could not go off on a seven point diatribe and claim her place as a proper demagogue. Not only that your observation is only shameless spin. Obama said an ignorant one liner and she came back with a couple that hit the heart of the matter. But you go ahead and keep dick riding Obama.
