I was trying to tell Dutcher jokes in the other thread and none of them took.

Q: Why did Amsterdam flood?
A: When they told a Dutcher to plug the dyke with his thumb he thought they were referring to Queen Beatrix.

Normally Saxi would be supporting the Socialists but Emile Roemer is a revisionist, so Sax will tepidly support the Greens in the Dutch election, even though they have no chance.

Best of luck today, Snorri!

Thanks, Snorri!

Especially when you figure there are fringe political parties actually dedicated to loving veggies (according to the poll). Can you imagine the debates over that party's platform if they were televised? I can just see the nominee from that party being caught up in a scandal, being accused of eating a hamburger.

Well...they're basically new age hippies. They never get enough votes for a seat but it's incredibly cheap to start a party. The pirate party and the party for young people are also hilarious.

where in holland do you live?

i spent four years working there from 94-98 and all the dutch i spoke to had had enough of morrocans and turks. holland has huge problems and is one of the biggest countries who are experiencing 'white flight'.

should the dutch roll-over and let their land be overwhelmed again?

is the centrum democratie party still going? i'd vote for them.

I live in Amsterdam. And seriously, the immigrants are not really a huge problem. It was only a focus during the last 10 years because everything else was going good. With the crisis he took quite a beating in the polls because most people care far more about money and their job then they care about a bunch of kids stealing stuff in a place they've never been.

In the interest of cultural exchange, I offer a trade. Please send one of these Dutch, veggie-loving hippies and we will send you this guy
