Well I have eliminated one assault at a time a stack of 40 something and lost only 5.
But yeah. They usually blow.

In
this game, I lost a 20 vs. 41 where I was the defender. Attacker still had something like 11 left.

the dice are so fucked up right now on cc it is ridiculous.
i saw a guy last night use a 9 stack to bombard a 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,3,6,3,1,1,1,1. and didnt lose a single troop...

Funny, its been my experience that with bombarding you get MUCH better dice, and are more successful. I guess that's just the way its rolled with me so far.

Bombardment would seem more successful because if you win you get to keep attacking forever. With normal attacks you run out of men because of losses AND advancing across the map.
As for 11 attackers losing to 2 defenders, the odds are not as bad as you think. 0.58048% ie 1 in 172. It won't happen that often to you personally but it happens all the time on CC since we throw incredible amounts of dice each day.
People thought you meant 2 attackers beating 11 defenders because of your original wording. That would be a truly exceptional case - 0.00005% ie 1 in 2 million.

But there is an overwhelming amount of normal mediocre rolls that no one remembers. On average, the dice are till fine.
