If someone needs something to do make a system showing a player their highest rank and Points total and perhaps the date it was achieved.

I say something about the noobs, I really don't care much about them. like this site generally now days. but it sounds good. so you have my vote folks.

Besides, noob farming does sometimes have its disatvantages. When playing high rankers, you can assume they will take the most logical and best course of action and play accordingly. With newer players, this is often not the case and sometimes it can get frustrating.

Overall, id have nothing against these medals but I do agree that
1- it will be hard to judge who falls in the 'noob' category if rank is constantly changing (do you take starting rank or rank when game is over?)
2- i dont know how useful it will really be because as some of you mentioned, players with a higher number of games are bound to get the medal. Maybe if it were awarded as a % of noob farmed over overall players killed, it might become more relevant.

Now that I understand what "farming" is (was not a joke earlier), my opinion would be that the only thing dumber than taking this ranking thing seriously enough to go "farming" would be to take this ranking thing seriously enough to get upset over someone else's farming.

No it isn't. I have played ONLY public and tournament games in my entire time here. I quite simply have not played very many newbs at all. The argument that newbs are wantonly joining every single game unimpeded holds no water at all.

OK looks like the YES's have it. Now could we just approve the damn medals so we can get on too designing these very degrading but socially appealing badges of honor.

Oh yes by the way i meant to tell you all a No vote means no i will not be playing for these medals not i don't think it's a good idea.

Sorry gang that I wasn't very prompt with an indulgent response. Have been preoccupied with more pertinent things such as making naked snow angles.

i think its a good idea , incentivate big ranks put the ass in cook hands and sometimes "oh my god 70 points nooooooooo" hahaha

Noobs simply need to learn how to play. Besides....the way ratings are computed here creates a natural bias against noobs. Higher ranked players are forced to have a bias against noobs in order to avoid losing tons of points. Quite often the so-called "noobs" are actually multis that arent being caught. They actually know how to play..which is another reason why they need to be "farmed"
