Agree on common trend. But not so sure re seq. I think the no 1 spot can be reached by a seq. player, but that would indeed take a lot of focus on score (which is just what the top freestyle players are doing, freestyle is just the means).
For the record, again, as Brann2006 is just taking advantage of the game engine, I have a hard time seeing this as a breach of the unwritten rules. The game engine is the game engine, if this tactic shouldn't be allowed, change the game engine (i.e. hate the game, don't hate the players). Same discussions were held re the de facto double turn back in those days and way back, the uncapped scoring system.

I don't think Bran is doing anything wrong compared to what you and your team-mates do which is wait until a chef joins team 1 without an assembly and then pounce and join team 2 to farm for easy points. Don't get angry with me, it is just an observation.

Off-topic. But you're just upset 'cause you got farmed.

you and johnny always say the same thing when someone calls you out for calling someone else out... "stay on topic"
i think it's right on topic to say "what this guy is doing is no worse than what you're doing"
shouldn't take it too personally when someone says they don't like what you're doing any more than what brann is doing... or maybe you SHOULD take it personally and stop doing it... who knows...

Off-topic. And didn't you get busted for farming ?s? I hardly think that you're the person to get on a high horse. Especially not after some guy making an unsustained statement with no apparent purpose other than to flame another poster.

Yeah, right...
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=100025&start=90#p2274475Of course, busted is a term used with respect for multiple accounts. But you did get a warning for farming ?s.
However, personally I'm not a big fan of that particular rule. But it's there now and I guess it serves a good purpose. I don't much much into the fact that you got this warning, but it's a bit inappropriate that you seem so eager to jump up on that high horse that you just tried to climb...
This is off-topic though, my apologies.

OK,
After a discussion with other mods I have decided to issue Krapt with a warning.
The high % of new recruits is a worry, but mostly the fact that Krapht admits that he knows these games attract new recruits and he contiuues to create the games. We consider this a grose abuse of the game as it creates annoying and unwelcoming gaming atmospheres for the New Recruits involved.
Lack is in the process of adding Feudal to the mpas that new recruits can't play. When that happens I dont know, but he has been again made aware that it is a map used for farming. So he is 'on it'.

Off-topic but where? Last game we played, me and my partner joined your game where you were on team 2, presumably after a chef had dropped out and farmed you

Brann, if [player]b00060[/player] got warned for doing the exact same thing, i think you will to.
"by king achilles on Wed Sep 30, 2009 7:21 pm
Although there is nothing saying that you have to deploy first, however, to intentionally make the other player wait because you intend to miss the deployment stage is not right. With all those games provided here, you managed to let all those players wait(even though you are actually there to deploy your troops), just so that you can have the first turn? Whether there is an advantage in this or not, the whole setup, from creating manual/freestyle games and deliberately missing the deployment stage is already wrong.
And with that much games as evidence, b00060 has been warned for gross abuse of the game.

If you wanna play freestyle then live with it's flaws.
I'd like to see the scoreboard if freestyle never existed...bet the whole first page would be different

the first 3 pages would probably not have bought premium.
the big R would be conqueror.
sorry, that's the funniest thing in this whole thread... the big R may be the least legitimate conquerer ever... farmed up to 4800 then sat for a year till everyone dropped below him... hasn't been a non-freestyler up top since... well hell since i been here...

hmm, I just played a few games with him and even though he uses a few cheap tactics on freestyle, its normal and really just logical

Free style is for those that enjoy cheap tactics/possibly harbor a passion for farming, and enjoy the fact that it gives them an unfair advantage over new recruits in particular, who most likely have never heard of freestyle before joining the site, and don't have bob, clickies etc. Much as I might personally dislike the child, this seems like a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Doesn't it folks.
Hope the mods think very seriously about what type of precedent they wish to set here. As unless there is a new mind reading device out there(and there ain't), how do you prove that someone deliberately misses the deployment phrase? Simple no proof has been shown in this thread. So unless mods are now acting on emotional response... Looking at his turns taken percentage.
Suggestion - Maybe the next time someone reports him, they could point out and show proof of when he was online taking other turns, and didn't take the chance to deploy(yes there are ways to get around someone hiding their online status). This would satisfy the onus of proof. Doubt that anyone will bother to
PROOF please, not finger pointing folks

Instead of busting Brann for this, maybe the CC moderators should consider changing the manual deployment rule?! He's just taking advantage of a lack in the system, and than shouldn't be against the rules in my opinion.

You have obviously not bothered to check the games listed in this thread. If you do that, you'll see that the game log shows Brann2006 moving a minute or two after round 2 was initiated. It's obviously a tactic used on purpose. Further, you have obviously not read the posts in this thread. If you do, you'll see that Brann2006 does not dispute that this is a tactic used.
I use the word "obvious". However, that I think is more than fair. It's probably just a desire to whine on your part.
Again though, I only see a player that's using the game engine to his advantage. And I've never seen any general problems with that. But, the mods have warned a guy for this in the past. Perhaps that was a bit hasty. I'd be happy to see a reversed policy here. (Besides, Brann2006 is a decent fella in my book, I don't doubt that he wasn't aware of this past, rather arcane, C&A-ruling.)

Get over yourself and stop been such a self important ass(not a flame, archaic word for donkey).

Will forgive you because you have a cute avatar.
1) Yes I read the thread
2) Logging on 2minutes of after round2 was initiated... Any proof that he was online prior to that? Thats what I think should be show, rather than just assuming...
3) Does not dispute that this is a tactic used.... Nor does he admit to using it deliberately(not in as many words) Wasn't the person that started this thread sanctioned for the same offense.
4) Surely you agree with the rest of the post which you selectively quoted. Asking for more consistency in rulings from the almighty mods.
5) Seriously, you whine, because you think I'm whining? What is up with that?
Off topic, do you have an animation of your avatar, can imagine would fit perfectly with your online jovial persona if you had it bopping away to a nice AbbA classic like dancing queen.

people should be allowed to miss turns if they want to, I think that is what this threads about

Otherwise they should just dump the freestyle setting all together, people complain about it enough.
