I'd have to go with the 'fail to kill another guy b/c of one army', but it gets worse:
Getting to watch the next player kill said guy, take his cards (escalating game, of course), and proceed to roll up the rest of the board and take points that were going to be MINE DAMMIT.
--deep breath--
Okay, I'm better now.

getting BS negative feedback. as long as a player post BS before you can, its legit and will remain on your record if he writes it in a proper manner.
thanks Haz and Pedro.

Die because you finished your attack earlier clicking in the wrong button. Grrr!!
9%
9% [ 9 ]
the poll is biased, I wouldn't have picked that if it didnt say die, because obviously losing is worst..
that aside I would have picked losing 11 v 2.

If playing with cheaters, I would hope they're on my team.
Having a huge army lose out to two and not being able to stop until you've got 3 left really, really ruins a good round.

Not really... Most options can make you lose too, and will in most cases, just more slowly... and in fact the 5th option also includes your death, so...
Anyway, losing can not be the worst thing, too... some things can be more irritating, and according to the person can be worse.

only reason i don't think its the bad partner 1 is coz then at least u hav some1 to blame. bad dice r much more common and u can't shout as much as u like at them and they never react

I picked failing to kill an opponent because I just finished a game where I died because I attempted to kill an opponent and couldn't kill his final army. I died because the other player reached that army, reached my partner's armies and then killed me two turns later. Might I add that it was 2(me)x1x1.

Really great poll, it's difficult to decide, another one that really irritates me, is you have 15 armies defending your continent border, facing someone with 5, who then deploys 3 and attacks. when you return, your opponent has taken over your territory and still has 5/6 armies left in his own territory. I.E. losing 15-2 when attacked.

I wasn't here the first time this poll went around, but its probably the best one I've ever seen on this site. Amazingly well put together options!
I voted for "failing to kill a guy by ONE army" because that will usually have the biggest effect on the game (if its escalating at least which is what I usually play). If you defeat that last guy you will almost assuredly win the game, but if you fail you are certainly handing the game to someone else. And that's my least favorite part of sequential escalating games, the elite ones especially. The game seems to be most often decided by someone trying to take a player out and failing, and then the next in line wins. And I HATE being in game like that because you can't do anything to prevent it if you are out of position!
Anyway, nice work on this thread marv
Also, I'm glad to see its been 9 months and yet the fears of jacked up premium memberships haven't come to pass. However, lack still has everyone by the balls (except wicked perhaps).

Fail in a try to kill an opponent, and because of 1 army!!
I had 17 armies to kill 5(1 army) territories, I deployed 7 more armies there for no good reason. You would think 17's enough, nope ended up with 7armies(7 from 24)...which means I could have missed by at least one territory, one army...Thank god for overkill...

spy sweeper came up on me when i was about to attack one army...amp cashed...and the 2 from the cards stopped my 7 for long enough to deploy the rest....100 points down the drain....

Thanks all for the positive comments about the poll
I should have included something about freestyle being abused, but we didnt have many problems at that time... You know, we had freestyle with double turns allowed

(if you dont remember this, well...

)
We can already see that some things have changed:
The option "die because you finished your attack earlier clicking in the wrong button" had 12%, and now has 8%... Of course, because lack moved the end attacks button
Plus, the option "have only 4 games and wait the whole day the red light becomes green... and this doesnt happen!" had 18%, and now has just 11%. Looks like we have more premiums, at least in the forums (sure, premium membership was something really recent then!)
On other hand, the "fail in a try to kill an opponent, and because of 1 army" option had 14% but now has 20%

more than the 1st and the 8th options. What could explain this???
Anyway, the unbeatable armies are even more annoying. Considering the top 2 options are related to dice, we will reach a brilliant (lol, joking) conclusion: the dice are usually our greatest enemies

arg.
just when i read this poll i started a rt escalating..
i had TWICE Failed in a try to kill an opponent, and because of 1 army!!
twice....
arg.
and in another game i got cursed because i could not take out his last country... HELLO. i placed 7 more armies next to that one occupied by 2 armies. and there were NONE left because those 2 kept winning all the dices..
sigh
hides in a corner now..

For me with out a doubt its the losing 11 - 2 syndrome
That happens every other day for me almost and i tend to get quite frustrated wih it.
Having said that im sure it all eventually balances out.
All i need do now is await my good luck streak

Yeah, it does balance out in the end... we just don't normally notice the good dice
I had one of my worst dice days ever yesterday, but today already i've killed off opponents in two games with my very last throw of the dice (i.e. 1vs1), and won a 12vs12 without losing an army

I chose hitting the wrong button to prematurly end an attack... I do this from time to time, and it stings more because I have complete control over it! It's not like the randomly generated dice, because I have litterally now conroll and am not at fault, but when I hit the wrong god damn button, I get soo pissed.....

3 players that join triple/freestyle games because they can make their turns together at the same time from the same household. This is permitted if they have their own account. its not hard to have 3 computers set up and making all 3 moves at the same time by 1 person.
