My husband has an airconditioning business. His guys use this tape to seal duct work every single day. We used to use it instead of bandaids for cuts to because it was always around.
Now we just superglue our cuts.

Meh, I would probably get someone else to do it for me then take the credit of looking it up. Or if I felt I could get away with it just make up something random like "selotape was found in 1946 having been created by the nuclear explosion in Hiroshima"

I used to always get confused with products which have become known by their main brand name.
Such as hoover is actually a vacuum cleaner and Rizla are actually papers or skins.
Maybe im easily confused
