@jano - you guys are going great in CC4, very close. However the bet was about the outcome of this protracted skirmish. Pity your frenchman is no longer around. Was thinking of a Belgian seafood restaurant theme for him.

Well, you could also think of the situation in reverse. While ATL thought we wouldn't be much competition for them, in fact; it took a mistake on our part for ATL to be able to win this war. You guys skated by on thin ice, and you know it!

Ironically, you guys might even win the CC3 war for the same reason. I'm obviously a bad counter.

But I would must prefer to leave this thread on a nice note:

Of course, I am disappointed to be out of the Newcomer's Cup. I thought this would be our best year/best chance of winning it, and I thought it would be a great touch to celebrate how the New RA bounced back and improved tremendously. I'm afraid that next year, we will be ranked too high to participate again.

However, I also feel quite good. No one expected my clan to win or even come this close. Can't beat ourselves up for losing by only one game. So so close!

We won't get to kick AQOH's tails either. But oh well, ATL will do that instead

I always felt that whoever won this war would likely go on to win the Newcomer's Cup. So I believe that will be ATL.

Thank you for the nice remarks Gustav Wasa and Teflon Kris. Well-played by ATL, and they have only helped us to get better. Competitive games, and a nerve-racking finish.
