Well the origin of the celts is constantly debated in historical scholarship, but its certainly not Iberia.

As for the later invading peoples they certainly didn't 'kill all romans that was left.' The Roman's had pretty much withdrawn by then, leaving 'romanised' Britons in many areas. Indeed, there were probably never that many romans to begin with, mostly military and administrative (unlike other European territories where more steady emigration was evident).

but a lot of scholarly opinion says 'yes' I'm afriad. This is a major theory supported by many, and it is pretty convincing. There is some evidence that the Celts were Circaesir from Circaesya, who lived on the 'Sea of Grass' in what is now Kazakhstan.

edit: If you're referring to the skeleton they found in Portugal, its certainly not DNA proof, more the lack of it. The skeleton may have had similar physical features, but there have been no major similarities found between the mitochondrial DNA of Neanderthals and Humans.

Don't know about this Neanderthal cross-breeding in Gaels (although I have heard somewhere that Neanderthals possibly interbred with Humans).
But I think you are confusing the terms Gaels and Celts. Celts did not belong to one single culture - this is really just a term applied by the Romans to describe the peoples of Gaul and beyond. Although these tribes shared some similar cultural ideas and some shared roots of languages they were not united and would certainly not have used that term to identify themselves.

Once again I must say that these tribes were not united, they are a mixture of many different races that have mixed at different times due to invasions or cultural contact through trading etc. The Gaulish tribes were not united and had many different origins from migrations of tribes. The red hair you talk about is a recessive gene which has spread with the movement of tribes, but those people would have had as mixed hair colours then as they do now. It is simply not correct to state that all Gaels would have red hair.
