Definitely need to be darker. Maybe not black but a darker blue certainly. Other than that its looking good!
Also, I think eur-russia is fine as it is.

I used to think that the lines should be darker, but they really seem to have that glow that ice has sometimes. Of course, this could also be accomplished if they were darker, and if they were, they may be a bit easier on the eyes. Either way, I'm game.

Hmm. I like the connection lines as they are...however maybe something could be done to the background to make them more visible to the eye?

The connections are very easily visible. I don't think a darker color would improve it any more.

I can't be bothered to read this whole thread and see if this has been suggested or not, but I would prefer a different texture for the coninents and a different color for the connecting lines.
The texture is too plain and makes the map look smooth all over.
And that color for the connecting lines is going to blind someone. Just try to avoid a lawsuit and change it.

Hm, actually the simple gradient is something I like about this...and the lines give it an arctic ice feel.

I also like the gradient. It makes the map seem very sleek.
It seems ready to play, unless someone can bring up something really compelling that needs to be changed.
