It's already been suggested, old chap; kindly read the sticky at the top of this forum, please.

a no newb game

I think there should be a button that makes it so newbs cant join your game or there cant be more than 75% of the people playing the game be newbs this button should be in with the start your own game options. there are to many newbs flooding on to this site i made two games and there both filled with newbs its frustrating

No! They already can't join team games (which I was against) and now you want to make it so that they can't join any games at all!? Seriously! We are trying to attract people to this site so that they can buy a premium membership, not drive them away because they can't join any games.

hi

its a good idea it wont drive people away alot of people dont care about it but there alot of people who dont like to play newbs because they dont know how to play the game and the game becomes boring

I believe that a better solution would be to buy a premium membership, and post in the "call-outs" you want to have a private game with some good players~!
That way- no noobs!
geez, i'm on a roll tonight..

Then does not my suggestion of creating more than one game at a time help you out?
Create 15 private games, put them on callouts- and put the passwords there, and people will eventually join them !

Glad we settled our disagreement :)

So people are specifically going to game finder and typing in your name, because you're the best player on CC, right?
lol, give your head a shake.

If you want experienced players, most of them check the Call-Outs page, so post them there.

If you want this site to get better, we need new members. The way you're talking, you'll drive them all away pretty quick

Game Joining - limits / restrictions

Is it possible to make game entering restrictions.

Example: No one under 1000 points can join or only people over 1400 points can join.

You could make it another perk for premium members (which would mean I couldn’t use it  but I think it would be a good addition).

no because all would be just no1 under their own score

I would support this. I would like to play some games of people all my own rank without having to go through callouts or whatever.

Edit: One thing though, you're gonna need to use the suggestion form before any of the mods will look at it

Don't bother with the form, this idea has already been rejected before.
Please check the to-do list.

Search by rank

Sorry if this has been asked or posted before.

Would it be possible to make it...possible to search by rank? I'd like to try some of the more experienced players and this would make it more simplistic to join their games.

Thanks, love the site.

decent idea, not something that a lot of effort should go to, but it'd be a nice convieniance

Minimum score for game entry

Posted: Mon May 14, 2007 7:29 pm
by edwardo2007
I'm not sure I agree with the point system, which is strictly designed to give players with lower scores more points for a win and players with higher scores less points. Whenever I start a game and lower scoring players join, I'll take only 10 points from each for a win but lose 40 points for each loss. Even if I was a perfect strategist, the luck factor would prevent me from rising in score with this system because I'd be required to win more games than I lose.

I know I am not alone in this dissatisfaction with the scoring system. I've noticed that players with really high scores are forced to play in games only with other high scoring players and can do this only through private games (which requires that you have a group of friends on the site to always play with).

If CC refuses to change the scoring system, the least they could do is allow premium members the option of setting a minimum score requirement (couldn't be higher than their own score) for entry in public games.

There is NOTHING wrong with the scoring system. If you only want higher ranks to join, then make a private game and post it in Callouts. Besides, if you are actually good, and rising in ranks, then you SHOULD win more games then you lose. It's common sense. Also:
1. This has been suggested MANY times
2. Use the form

He sure did...

EDIT: Also, stop being such a points whore. It's just a game, they don't really matter. Lighten up and get out more.

Game finder

I whuld like to have an option to look for sertain ranks. So i dont hafto look thru 100 games to find good players to face.

Play only against players of same rating.

It would be nice to have an option when starting a game that allows you to limit the range of players that can join. For example if i created a game i could choose that only people of the same level can join my game, this also opens the option for different selections, such as only allow players to join if they are two ranks above or under, or even only allow players of the following rank!
