You're 100% right. That shouldn't have been there. However, why did they allow it for hundreds of posts? That "sexual" thread was there for days before Spamalot was deleted.

If it had to be deleted, way to go, delete it. But I strongly believe one of the mods could have posted a notice, blocked the topic and then removed it a couple of days latter, once the members were aware of the situation.

Here is my personal opinion:

I have over 10,000 posts. Take them all away I don't care.

It seems to me that spamalot is complaining about a whole bunch of nothing. When spamalot was formed there WAS a forum guidelines. There were rules against spamming. They spammed anyways. They were seen in threads scoffing the rules too saying, "mods don't do anything about spamming anyways." The mods did one thing in response to their spamming. They deleted one thread. The spamalot people are now acting like they are innocent people being persecuted. The fact is they are hardly even being punished, and they DID break a stated rule. All that happened was that they lost posts. I could really care less if you took away all my posts, besides to keep current conversations going, I have no attachment to my posts. They could all disappear and I wouldn't care.


I would like to know cite an example and precedent from CC history. The Stachewacker clan was formed in about July. They were given a 1 day blanket ban for the entire clan. What rule had they broken? None. There were no rules in place prohibiting what the stachewackers had done and they still received an unjust forum ban. Spamalot likes to complain and attempt to martyr themselves, however really compared to other situations in CC history where mods have over stepped their bounds this is a molehill being attempted to be made into a mountain. They are whining over the loss of a couple thousand posts of theirs. When really that is all that was taken from them.


Also the day before it was deleted I had made a new thread for them so they wouldn't pass the longest thread thread. They could make themselves a new thread to be their home. I don't see why they don't just concede the fact that it was deleted and move on.
