I voted for medium, because the middle term is allways more consentual.
Not too big, not too small :)

How many puzzles do I need to solve for a medal ?

Competitions are being run every week in post 2. The other way is to show support by using the avatar or sig I am showing. For the #Just For Fun, they are just that, for fun.

For our second competition, we are going to look into the future.

...............................What Can I Say?
Every map that gets made, a small description needs to be written. This is what was written for Rorke's Drift.
Map Description wrote:January 1879, around 4500 Zulu warriors attacked the tiny outpost of Rorke's Drift. Under the command of Chard and Bromhead, around 130 British and 20 Natal regulars defended the outpost for 2 whole days before relief.

Below, you will find 4 descriptions for 4 different maps at different stages of map making.
You will find the maps in the
drafting room, main foundry and beta map forums. All you need to do is go hunting for which map is being described. Then when you have the four maps, send the names of them to me ([player]koontz1973[/player]) via PM.

Map 1
Battle for HIGH GROUND! Auto-deploy bonuses which increase as players conquer higher ground; higher levels bombard lower levels. The summit is the only territory that can kill starting spots.
Map 2
Set of on your travels, exploring the furthest regions. Explore unknown lands with famous explorers. But watch out for monsters swim in the waters.
Map 3
This is a simple map, in some ways similar to route 66, where the win objective is to hold the route. Its based on real life, but I have added a few stations and connections that would/could be built in the future.
Map 4
This map incorporates resource collection (4 weapons), build-a-bonus (Capitals), auto-deploy territories, gameplay from standard CC maps, and continues the series style including two "free-for-all" regions.

[spoiler=rules]Please read through all rules.
  • No posting answers into the thread.
  • Send all answers to me [player]koontz1973[/player] via PM.
  • Answers to me by this time
  • At the end of the competition, all correct answers will be entered into a random draw (Random.org) to determine the winner of the GA medal.

Disclaimer: Maps can be moved by the foundry personal at any time. So a map can go from the drafting room to the main foundry or from beta maps to the recycle bin. This will only be done per normal foundry rules and not to mess with your heads. ;) [/spoiler]

Good luck and have fun. :D

Medium Map. Small maps leave little room for inventive game play, theyre lux or doodle no matter how you dress them up. Medium gives nice balance, and avoids trench games lasting 4 months and 6 days.

I disagree. Circus Maximus, Egypt: Upper, Ireland, Greenland, Halloween Hollows, all are slightly unique.

Maybe with a mid-size map there is a little more room to play with, but you can add bombards, one way attacks, killer neutrals, etc to any sized map to significantly change the gameplay

I voted for a large map because I like this idea:

That does sound pretty fun.

A poll can be added to graphics sweeps week for this. But it would depend on the name I guess. koontz and gilligan sound OK, but sempaispellchack or thebasterd do not have a nice ring to it.

I'm fine with mine being shortened to sempai - that's how I sign my posts and PMs, anyway. Observe:

For me, map size doesn't matter as long as it is a creative concept.
In this project, I would rather see a large map then a small map. It's a big project, so a bigger map should come out of it. :-)
Thus, I voted for large.

Large map, of course. I don't think another Hive-style map (I like the map, hey) is currently needed, but I think it would be quite interesting to have a big map to play with 8 people (or once the suggestion gets implemented, 12)

I prefer a small map. Small maps tend to produce shorter games. You could run an enormous tournament on a small map and get it finished before your premium runs out.

I also voted large on this one. Out of all the great maps we have on this site, all are large maps. Very rare that a medium map can rise above the ordinary. Another reason for large is it allows more game play options.
