NHL will benefit in cities where the fans were split between the NHL and NBA for their dollar. There will probably be more NHL games on television as well.

Season going to start Christmas day? That sucks though because I'm going to be forced to choose between the Bears/Packers game and the Heat/Mavs game more than likely.

There's always been Christmas day NBA, so they saved one basketball ritual.
If the Packer/Bears game clashes with a basketball game then I'll be watching
the football... maybe some round ball intermissions in the gaps.

A sixty six game season... so teams with set rosters should do well
as there won't be as much time to catch up from a slow start.
