Yes Gilliagn...if you check back starting on p2,3 etc you'll see that was one of the first thing discussed....and that continued right up to about 5-8 pages back. Have a look, and see if that satisfies your question.
Actually, I'm finding most of the color schemes confusing.

Yes that's why they have ended up as what they are now. There were several attempts as you can see to define better colours each continent.
Can you explain further what you think needs attending to in the current colours.

Gladly.
Imperial Japan is fine.
Solomons is fine.
Bismarcks is fine.
Is West Australia bottom left?
Allied Navy is fine.
Maybe East Australia can be a different shade of green so it is not so close to W. Australia?
I don't see a N. New Guinea.
East Indies is fine.
New Guinea and Papua are fine, but I think that some people will have trouble distinguishing them.

West Australia...bottom left yes...
and you are right...the colours are not those advertised in the legend.
I'll fix that this evening after work. Thanks for picking that up...sometimes one needs new eyes that aren't so close...

Gilligan (and Splash), sorry about the muck with the colours.
Below is a fix for that and Gilligan, I have altered the colour of eastern Australia to accentuate its difference...more limey green i think.

Solomons is the same thing as East Indies, except with 2 more countries. It has the same borders to defend, 3. And New Guinea has more borders to defend, 4, but has lower bonus?

Gilligan...I'd still prefer to leave as they are on the basis of the below:
N New Guinea 5 Terts 3 Def 5 AttRts 2 n'bors 24Ttl 6 Div 3.00 Result 3
Solomons 8 Terts 3 Def 3 AttRts 3 N'bors 6 Div 3.75 Result 4
East Indies 6 Terts 3 Def 3 AttRts 1 N'bor 6 Div Result 3
