wow, this is a really good idea, never even crossed my mind. Please implement this (obviously the overwhelming majority of people want it, 20 out of 22, and the 2 still want term.)
Allow team games to be played as terminator or assassin
Specifics:
Take Doubles, Triples, and Quadruples out of the 'game type' setting
Add a new 'Team Size' setting, or something appropriately named, for Single, Doubles, Triples, and Quads
Restrict the combinations appropriately for the current number of players, currently this would allow only for Singles and Doubles to be played as Terminator or Assassin games; however, once 12 player games come, it could be expanded to triples and quads
Terminator games could be scored either when a player eliminates another player (killing team's score averaged and calculated against individual's score) OR when one team eliminates another team (average the killing team's score against the average of the defeated team's score). Which to use is open for discussion.
Assassin games would have team's assigned other team's for targets. The assassin team would have to defeat all players in the target team in order to win.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
It would allow new types of team games to be played. 4 team assassin or terminator has always seemed like it would be fun.
I couldn't see this option being /that/ difficult to implement
I had done a search to check, but guess I didn't check far enough back or use the right keywords. I checked the first couple pages for 'team assassin', I think it was. I also checked the first couple of pages of the suggestions forum to see if I could find anything and didn't turn anything up. I'll see about looking harder next time... I was kinda surprised nothing had come up when I looked.
So, that being said, from the couple pages that I've read through, it seems that this was a very popular idea. Is it still as popular and if so, should we be getting this stickied?
Perhaps a poll would be a good place to start to see how much support this has? I tried to create one, but it looks like I can't since I'm no longer the author of the thread.
I have to wonder where all the support for this went. I would have thought that it was a more popular suggestion that it's appearing to be... especially considering the previous threads.
I think it's due to the fact they are almost all old threads, and people forgot about them. May i suggest sending PM's to your buddies? Or how about posting a link to this thread in GD?

Also, for when/if the game size goes up to 12, how about this for Assassin? Instead of "Team A goes for Team D", you have, "Team A-1 goes for Team C-2, Team A-2 goes for Team B-1" That way nobody would know who has who, and if 1 player from a team gets pegged off, everyone else still wouldn't know who the second player has to peg off.

average the killing team's score against the average of the defeated team's score
i like that one more.
I think this would make team games edgier. which is good
This is how I've always seen the team terminator games working. As for assassin games, I would think that having one full team be the assassin for another full team would work the best.
This is of course presuming this suggestion ever gets submitted for consideration... I have to say that I've been a bit disappointed by the turnout for this one.
I'm still very interested in seeing a version of this implemented. I believe at this point we've been working at getting past the lack of support issue. It seems that many people are interested in this being implemented, but never show up to voice their support.
I think it also needs some figuring out of the details for how terminator and assassin would work, but the support problem seems to be the big one.
In terms of how it would work, the only difference I would suggest be made to the above suggestion is to have the points awarded when a player is eliminated, rather than a team, but even then I'd be happy with both implementations.
