10. If you challenge someone AND lose, you will retain your Ladder rung, but you cannot re-challenge that player until after you have challenged someone else. For example, you are #9 and challenge and lose to the #6 player, you cannot challenge the #6 player until you challenge either #7 or #8.

How does it work if I challenged and won, and now I'm being challenged by the same player, with no intervening challenge from him?

But this isn't a rule 10 matter the way I see it. dhall challenged the first time and gang challenged the 2nd time so it's not a matter of losing and challenging again without challenging someone else. It's a matter of a successful challenge by dhall followed by a challenge by gang. Not to beat a dead horse.

I thought Rule 10 was a broad, no-tag-backs policy, but it appears I was wrong. Rule 10 only means that the challenger cannot re-challenge the same person.

It does not apply to a person losing their spot and then challenging to reclaim it.

Is that right?

Dhallmeyer, I think I can best explain it this way, using our latest match as the example...

Prior to our match you were #7 and I was #4, so you challenged me. Since I won the match, I moved up one spot to #3 and you stayed at #7.

With Rule #10, you have to challenge someone at #6 (MGSteve), #5 (ElricTheGreat), or #4 (tamaynet...but you can't because he's being challenged by MGSteve) BEFORE you can re-challenge me.

Now once you challenge another player (regardless of you winning or losing that match), you could then challenge me, provided that I am still within the three ladder rung range.

If you had won the match, you would have moved up to #4 and I would move down to #5. I could challenge you to reclaim my spot, since you made the challenge in the prior match.

I hope this clears up Rule #10 for you.

Good catch, Elric...I sent Vinyl-Taliban into limbo when I updated the Ladder last week. The Ladder has been restored with all players in their correct positions...I only needed to re-add Vinyl to the #10 spot.
