I don't see hardly anything to go on at the moment. The case against clive is flimsy at best, and I haven't seen anything with any more to go on.
Sigh, I suppose I'll unvote until something of actual interest happens.

I agree, these bandwagons have no substance at all. There is no real evidence and no one has anything today, just like every day 1.

These two quotes say it all:

If this is the way it is going to be, with no one doing anything except posting on how flimsy reasons for day 1 votes are, waiting for everyone else to do the work, then:
unvote vote no lynchThis is stupid. 2 or 3 people have actually tried to contribute something out of 15 players, with the rest saying they are not going to contribute or they have nothing to go on.... because you are not pressuring anyone to get anything or not contributing any ideas themselves. I tried to get discussion going, even on myself, because even if you are town and you see how/why people are voting for you, it gives you information. which we have none.
If this is the way it is going to be I suggest that all mods put shorter time restrictions on day 1 or just start in the night phase. At least it will keep things active. Inactivity is the leading contribution to the death of CC mafia.
We have 8.5 days left before the deadline, which means we have 8 days of nonsense before people start jumping on random bandwagons to try and get a lynch before the deadline, which will probably result in the lynch of an overagressive townie, which everyone is afarid to be and why no one is saying anything.

I suggest you read rule 6 again.
I agree with most of what you're saying, and I've been considering making day 1 shorter for most of the afternoon.
So, I'll do it like this: I will cut the remainder of day 1 in half if the majority of the players agree. If you want this done, send me a PM (keep rule 16 in mind). If I receive 8 PMs within the next 48 hours, I will move the deadline closer.

well what do you want to do then? we do not have any evidence at all.
anything that could be a clue could also be a bluff pretending to be a clue!

Vote Clive
The fact that he always throws around votes and his extreme defensiveness for pmchugh make my very inclined to lynch him. This is basically a recipe for scum who are saving their partner. We have to pressure. No lynch is a terrible descision. What are we gonna do at night, randomly chose? We need a lynch or at least a claim to base our night actions off of.

We follow standard day 1 operating procedure and vote for someone who has said someone who has said something scummy. This person will have a chance to defend & claim & then we decide if we want to lynch & hope we are lucky...

Not only is no lynch a terrible decision, its against the rules. In this game, it is literally impossible to get a no lynch. I do agree with you that we need to pressure, though. We don't want to get down to 2 days before deadline and have an unproductive scramble of random votes to get a lynch.
Unvote, Vote: Clive to up the pressure.
FoS: Suspect for voting no lynch, which is always a poor decision on day 1 because a lynch generates vital information.

I read your reason for no lynch. No lynch is almost never good for the town, because if we no lynch, we'll just be in the same situation tomorrow, while a lynch, even a townie lynch, will let us see who went after who, who defended who, and who lurked, and we can use that information on future days to make a more informed lynch.
Not that we can "no lynch" anyway, but I must point out why a no lynch is bad.

Yes, but you are forgetting it can swing entirely the other way. Let's say the Day 1 lynch is an unlucky townie. The majority on the bandwagon will also be townies, and chances are they will be future targets for the next lynches. Add in the night kills, and at Day 3 you're at least 5 townies down.
That's a worst case scenario though.
Vote Over-rule Rule 6As I put in my rules - "a No Lynch is boring and hardly happens anyway" - but it's nice to have the option there.

Not to mention the fact that we can gain informaiton at night, hence we are not in the same position we are in day 1.

While your concern about deadbeaters is good, the yearn for a no lynch is not. Truth is a lynch is always good for town. We need information, and a lynch does exactly that. We will lose townies on the way, but hey, we have to.
I understand you not wanting the game to degenerate into last minute bandwagons, but a lynch is important for information. This game still has good discussion going on and plenty of leads and arguments to go on from.

I'd rather lynch an angry townie than a no lynch anyday as it still generates information and can illustrate who bandwagoned then those on lots of bandwagons can be questioned in themselves. If they have a decent enough role they will claim before the lynch anyway and hence be safe from the chop. Eventually, scum get found - that's how we play mafia... none of this No lynch BS.

QFT.
Sometimes a no lynch can appear attractive as garunteed no townies are lost but it means no scum are lost and every night benifits scum, without a lyunch day 1, day 2 is just another day 1, so do you no-lynch again?

Oh dear, have we forgotten about the doctor and roleblocker roles? Not to mention a few others. If they get lucky then the scum gain nothing.
without a lyunch day 1, day 2 is just another day 1, so do you no-lynch again?
No, because in a game like this I can see watcher and tracker roles. Definately suited for the elf.
All they need to do is to make accurate guesses from the results of their actions.

Why are we even discussing not lynching when it isn't a possible option?

Eh? So your hoping to "get lucky" by voting no lynch and hoping that town can win the night? Not to mention people would have to claim tomorrow to give us any info. All games have to be balanced so that scum win the nights, because they cannot win through lynches purely. Plus what's to say we can't get lucky with our lynch? The way I see it it gives us two chacnes to get lucky.
Mr. Squirrel wrote:Why are we even discussing not lynching when it isn't a possible option?

I honestly don't know, but at least we are talking about something.

Yes, but side contains a scum member, the side arguing the merits of the impossible lynch or the side arguing for lynches every day? Mathematically it seems that at least one person who expressed on opinion one way or the other is scum, but that could be said of any random group of players that size.
