In the second semifinal of the Charleston Classic, Virginia Tech has knocked off host Clemson (#3575170). The Hokies are preparing for their finals match-up with San Francisco, as the Tigers will look to rebound in their consolation game against Temple. Virginia Tech continues their hard early schedule against their third top 20 team in four games :o

And Once Again Colorado goes down, Fresno State had some stifling defense (my bad dice) while in the mean time his offense was doing good also (his good dice). Plus an early fast break (turn in before me) put me behind too the point of where I could not recover.... Hope I get out of the season in Top 25 with the dice I'm having. Having fun though Flex keep up the good work, can't wait till I get back to playing maps I know :D

Fresh off the press from the Fresno Bee:
FRESNO STATE TOPPLES NO. 1, RIOTS
FRESNO- A scene of devastation greeted the residents of Fraternity Row near Fresno State Tuesday morning after a full-scale riot broke out in celebration of the men's basketball team's eight-round victory over national No. 1 Colorado at the Las Vegas Classic.

"It was total chaos," said senior George Villagrana, who was trampled seconds after Dwight O'Neil's winning three-point shot. "Someone stepped on my head, and I think I got raped."

While Colorado's shots bounced harmlessly off the rim, the Bulldogs took a formidable first-half lead, before nearly giving it up to poor shooting of its own. O'Neil's shot beat the buzzer, leaving no time for Colorado to capitalize on the momentum it had built.

After Watching the game in their dorms and fraternity houses, the entire student body surged onto the football field to topple the goalposts, interrupting the football team's night practice.

"Why the hell not?" said former student J.K. Lunsford, part of the thousands-strong mob that stormed through the practice, when asked why the crowd targeted the goalposts. The riot left football coach Pat Hill hospitalized with a herniated disk in his back after he was hoisted off the field like a trophy.

University officials estimated as much as 500 tons of alcoholic beverages were consumed during the night-long rampage, which left four students dead, 27 hospitalized, 122 pregnant and nearly 500 packed into the Fresno County Jail. Damage has been estimated in the billions, and University Liquor was burned to the ground after its shelves and refrigerators were cleared.

This is fun.

Nice...Rodent. =D>

I must say I love how active this league becomes...I get disappointed if I check the thread and we're not in the top-five from the top. Keep up the good work everyone...let's make this thing fun.

PS -- For Achilles...Tulane is ranked No. 2, I must have just missed that in the game tags this week. Updated standings and rankings will go up tonight.

Memphis defeats Duquesne in round 2 of the NIT (Game 3576439). After a hiccup at the game's start, Memphis took control and never surrendered their advantage.

John Calipari could not be reached for comment. Memphis' scorekeeper, though, wished to point out that "a win in the consolation bracket is still a 2nd round win and should not be disrespected by anyone, anywhere, ever. So nyah."

The UConn Huskies rebounded from a disappointing loss against Portland to beat UNLV in Game 3588722. This match was a true back and forth battle, with both teams jockeying for an edge and sinking key three-pointers (or, perhaps, mixed sets) to turn the tide. In the end, the Huskies' excellent defensive dice--I mean, pressure--wore down the Runnin' Rebels.

looks like stanford beat air force in a ranked game (#5 vs. #7) :( while air force has a good chance (but it is still close) of beating tulane in the Chicago invitational finals :D I forgot to mention earlier but i beat minnesota in the semis of the chicago tournament. It looks like you got it any ways though. I will post again once the games mentioned above are finished.

PS: This tournament is so sick!

The Charleston Classic has crowned their Champion, Virginia Tech (Game 3595035). Virginia Tech got an early lead and never relinquished it, finishing off a very tough San Francisco team. However, coming off of their early season championship, Virginia Tech got destroyed by the Bearcats in Cincinnati (Game 3588729). A slow start and too many turnovers led to the Hokies defeat. Still, a 3-1 (1-0 ACC) start with two wins against top 20 teams is not a bad way to start the season. Hopefully the Cincinnati defeat can be shaken off and the Hokies can continue their good start.

Buffalo defeats Temple in 6 rounds (game 3588691). Coach Ricrem once again applauded the aggressive style of his opponent and the impact of the Buffalo fans at home were really first rate. "From the opening tip we were unable to get settled down, which lead to a couple of costly early turnovers, and by the time halftime came around we couldn't recover. Just gotta keep playing the games and hope some bounces (dice and cards) start going our way. I still have plenty of hope, as the season is quite young."

Game 3544406
South Florida went on the road to take on the Trojans of USC and came away with an impressive 4 round victory. The Trojans's interior defense collapsed on themselves after muttering something about "bad dice". South Florida saw the opening and embarrassed the Trojans at home.

Game 3588726
South Florida with the opportunity to defend their home once again after the humbling defeat at the hands of LSU. The Zags came into town and South Florida left them red-bottomed in a 7 round victory. This runs South Florida's record to 2-1 and looking to crack the top 20 for the first time this season.
