Dirk didn't choke in 2006, it was Terry who came up short that year, but the successes and failures of that season --as in all of basketball-- were as a team. I'd say JET more than made up for it in this years' playoffs and the last two games of these NBA Finals. King James is simply done this year and if he stays healthy obviously still has a long career in front of him that will present plenty of opportunities to achieve his goals. LeBraun's play in these finals was not the sole deciding factor, he put up a triple double in Game 5 and the Heat lost. Nowitski had 3 First Half points in Game 6 and the Mavs still managed a 3 point lead at the intermission.
This Heat team has a lot of potential to do great things, but don't expect the rest of the NBA to sit on their hands and just watch them take over.

Basketball players come across as "soft" in the pro sport world just ahead of baseball players. Shoulder may be in a great deal of hurt...but you still walk off the court.
After hearing King James' recent press conference (2:13) where he fires back at his "critics"... people can make all the jokes and other comments they want. His years in the NBA have certainly taught him how to endear himself to the public. that's sarcasm His big mouth is doing him no favors.
The only good thing that'll come from this I expect is that hockey's ratings are going to explode if there isn't a season at all.
The bad thing is that there's no fucking basketball. The Heat were gonna look for another finals appearance, Jimmer's first year in the league (have I mentioned that I played basketball against him?) and the first full-season of Carmello + Stoud.

The lockout will be resolved because the NBA and the owners need the money. If AoG continues to pull for the Heat we won't see them win a championship any time soon because we all know how his teams do.
Meanwhile... I just like popping up this playoffs thread because none of the "experts" gave the Dallas Mavericks a chance to win against the Lakers & Heat and now the Mavs are NBA Champions!
and the mothin fuckin DALLAS MAVERICKS ARE STILL CHAMPIONS!!
12:17:31 ‹Pixar› im gonna be fappin to that all night long
10:59:12 ‹rhp 1› holy hell... that did it.. I pissed myself
15:15:52 ‹Ace Rimmer› Sackett58, I think I may get some action this weekend
15:16:05 ‹Sackett58› Right hand or left Ace?
James and Bosh can still be made fun of but you're a fucking moron if you make fun of Wade. A few years ago he literally pulled his pants down and slapped Dirk and the Mavs with his penis in the Finals.
The 2006 Finals was Pat Riley's coaching... Wade just gets the assist there. This year's CHAMPIONSHIP was a total role reversal of that one. Except Dallas has never had a Mas Macho Big Trio expecting to win it all.
The funniest lebron comment I have still read is : If lebron wanted a ring so bad he could have stayed in ohio and bought one from terrelle pyror.
And good point ovo, AoG has a record of teams he picks/ puts in his avi and/or sig losing repeatedly, I remember this from the NFL playoff
and the NBA will probably stay locked out for a couple for months, before they reach a deal. The players will ahve to fold because unlike the nfl the majority of the fans are siding with the owners on this one.
The NBA doesn't have the NFL's profits to bicker about and will solve their differences because the owners need the money.
Wade became a star in the 2006 Finals with his stellar performance, but Riley's coaching is what turned it around and put him in that position. A few timely chokes in the final seconds of games 3 & 4 by a young Mavs team helped nudge it along too.
Of course the team you were pulling for back in 2006 was probably already knocked out of the playoffs or were you rooting for the Mavs that year AoG?

The Raptors made the playoffs I think that year, but I liked the Heat back then too.

Other than the Broncos (my team) I only put an avatar of Mendenhall's hump move because it was funny and one of Polamalu because I love him as a safety. Just because I root for a team doesn't mean I like them.
