Central Tytheria has a dot on the words... you should fix this.

Your sig has some weird white blobs on the words.

The small font is tough on the eyes. Increase it a couple of pixel sizes.

I think I'll go with enlarging the font a little. It's just as easy as changing the font and it seems a little weird to me to have a different font for each version.

Either way, change the colour of the text that is on the sea... pastel on blue = not good.

Version 2.1 Uploaded

It's on the top page:
viewtopic.php?f=468&t=114460&p=2540805#p2540805

Fonts were enlarged, I changed those pastels to white, I changed Central Tytheria to Talus to add more room, borders were erased under words. In general I just mad things more visible. There is one small gameplay tweak as well I dropped 3 of the rail bonuses down one point.

They are now:

Hellengar-Theraland +1

Thessisamess-Theraland +4

Denmarn-Northern Frontier +1

If you disagree with these let me know, but I think this was a wise decision. :geek:

Here's a weird question, I kind of want to change the territory Southern Livonia to Lyalia (I just like the sound and the look of it) The only reason I wouldn't is because in this map I tried to incorporate the Bonus name into at least one region of the bonus just to help players associate the bonus name with the area. Do you think this is necessary or will this cause any confusion if no territory in Livonia has the name Livonia on it?

Here's the small (just so you don't have to go from page to page to reference it)

The borders between Dunfunf & West Caprinthia, Roll. & Arleus are really small. Might be a bit hard to see for some.

I opened it up. I also lightened up the castles a little bit. I also went ahead and changed the whole Livonian Bonus to Lyalia. I just feel better freeing it from any potential real world connection.

By the way I think I found someone to do the XML! Neato Missile.

I was out of town for a little. I like the thickening of the borders now. It was just too much of a contrast between the bonus borders and non-bonus borders before.

The "total" in the road bonus' is not there anymore (Thessisamess-Theraland +4 'Total'). I don't know if you meant to do this or it just got dropped accidentally in your latest changes.

It got accidentally dropped thanks for calling it to my attention.

If you are still looking for a hand with the XML, I could pitch in.

EDIT: Heck, I just noticed you had a one-line mention of someone else. Well, let me know if that doesn't work out.

well, the other guy has never done XML (on this site) before and he's sort of doing it as a favor for me. If you are volunteering and already familiar with the XML then I believe that you would be the preferred option ;) Just let me know if you are still up for it.

I added the word "total" and I also adjusted the text on the territory "Ionsfee"

Update the large map with border erasures under text. Hit Theraland on the small map too.

I have a suggestion with the color of the ocean. I like a slightly darker but vibrant blue for the sea. I think it would especially go well on this map. It's almost like a grey-blue right now. I know it's lighter like this but something a little darker and less gray may go better. (gray may ha!)

Also I know you made some changes with the map key matching the colors in the map itself. I believe some of those got lost again...

I know we have discussed this via PM, but just for the record here, I will be working on the XML with Neato Missile's good wishes.

I can start very soon, but if you have a full list of names for regions and zones (territories and continents, if you will), that would be a great boost out of the blocks.

This map is looking great; the only thing that jumps out is that the region colours are so bright. I'd realy suggest muting them a little bit, and seeing if you can get back to pastel shades, or perhaps something slightly more muddy looking (like the colorblind simulation images :P) I think it's really only the red and green areas that jump out at me...

...no, see I think Prussian blue is a beautiful color, and it goes along well with the territories. A more vibrant blue would clash too much, especially since I've been muting the colors slightly.

lso I know you made some changes with the map key matching the colors in the map itself. I believe some of those got lost again...

I put those back in a version or 2 ago, when I re-darkened Skyatica

I saturated the colors just a little bit again. I also applied a second sepia filter to the map key.

2.5: I corrected a few very minor details, mostly involving erasing borders under semi-transparent objects.

Well, I am extremely satisfied with the above Images, and I have Ender526 already working on the XML, so I would like to humbly request the graphics stamp please. :D

I still wish you would fix the legend frame. You know, make it more symmetric...

The slight lack of symmetry gives it charm, it let's you know that it was hand done. The Navajo Indian's would always weave in a small imperfection to their tapestries, to make sure that they did not offend the gods.

Well you've got to please mods, not gods, so make it perfect! j/k

And I always heard that was true of Islamic Culture rather than Native Americans, as they did not want to offend Allah because only Allah was perfect. Which is why all those Kheffiyas have fly away threads.

As for crits... the legend is real messy at the bottom where it talks about the road bonuses... like it was just typed in there as an afterthought and it clashes bad with the map where it is obvious so much time and effort went into it.

Something is up with the black font on the small map... Its hard to read because I think its too blurry... not sure.

Does Itheria connect to Scaralact? It looks like a river there.

And I'll likely receive ridicule and hate for this last suggestion... but the story in the upper left corner... do you think you could make it a poem in the tradition of Homer, Virgil and Dante? The map has an awesome old world feel to it and the parallel with the literature of the ancient and medieval world would be awesome.

well, what would you suggest. remember there isn't a lot of room to work with down there (see, failed mini map idea)

Does Itheria connect to Scaralact? It looks like a river there.

It does, and it kind of does. I can do a draft where that border is a tad bit skinnier.

Something is up with the black font on the small map... Its hard to read because I think its too blurry... not sure.

Not sure whats up with that, it's probably just the result of the type being so small. Not something I have much control over, you'll have to talk to adobe. Maybe bumping it up a pixel or two will make it look cleaner, but that's about all I can do.

LOL, alright, I'll see if I can make a little more poetic but I don't think the odyssey will fit.

Ok here's my first attempt just off the top of my head:

In a dark age of worried nights
The masses seek a just and noble rule
will an empire shine a truthful light
or shall man fall unto barbarians
Treacherous, ignorant, and cruel

I miss the line about fertilizing fields with carnage though. That really was a selling point for me on the first one.
