So I passed out when I laid down on the floor for a few minutes tonight. I was out for a little over 2 hours and I missed between 12 and 15 turns. I am so exhausted so I am getting these games down ASAP and I am done trying to hold and now break this record. It has been fun and insane over the past 8 days.

This is my favourite thread at the moment. HA's posts just crack me up. They actually remind of diaries from the trenches: they have that stiff upper lip, for King and Country, resigned determination about them that I can but admire. Yet what makes it all truly amazing is that he doesn't have to do any of this .

For that he has my complete respect. Pointless activities taken to their extremes are something to be honoured and in my view HA deserves one of those special contribution medals.

Oh and HA, I don't think I can really, entirely venerate you (as in tell the grandkids about your exploits) unless you hit a round number. Say 1,500 games?

Well done HA. HA didn't have any help it appears taking his turns until he dropped under a thousand. Any new records are meaningless because no one can ever prove they were the one to take all the turns. It was just stupid enough of an idea that I don't think it occurred to him to cheat to get the record. Any further attempt to beat the 1250 is meaningless unless the contest is to do it with help and to keep above a certain rank in the attempt. Otherwise it's like winning the Tour de France without the blood tests.

I have always believed if you have to cheat then it is meaningless. If you know you cheated to win then the win has no meaning and is not worth playing.

I think AoN is doing all his on his own and deserves the new record. I think he will start feeling the pain in a few days--he thinks it is bad now--just wait.

Myself-I had a great day at the fair with my son today. I missed a bunch of turns and I had some friends take a lot for me. This was something I over did and it was fun.

This has been a great thread. I will miss it as it slowly goes away.

man, you need your own special category. Im hitting cook today in about 1-2 hours... Its jsut to many games to play each one with more than 5-10 secs.


I would love to know how in the hell you are keeping your rank... I guessw jsut that much better than me. Ive pushed the next game to about 15 hrs. It took me 24-28 straight hours of CC to do that. Almost time to try and sleep

your post doesn't make any sense. If he could show that he didn't have any help, then so could someone else.

Either way, impressive accomplishment HA. I wouldn't try it, but it is impressive.

It would be much more impressive if it lasted more than two days--AoN beat me and I am still not sure if I want to come back and break his. I will make a decision this morning.

It is very impressive what HA did especially because he kept his rank so high and he did do it on his own. I'll state this opinion for the last time for those confused by it. If the record is most games played at once by one player then those attempting to break HA's record have a slight credibility issue. That's all and it's just my opinion.

I don't understand why you aren't willing to give other players the benefit of the doubt, but you are for HA?

Especially since lately I've been seeing "so and so for HA" in games. I know you said "now that he dropped under 1000 games", but what's the point of that statement? The hard part isn't the first day of 1250+, it's the next week.

Actually it is the two weeks that follow. I already admitted once AoN beat me I missed turns and I had other players take turns for me. Looks like he is having a hard time keeping up with the games as well--dropping to a 400 point cook . No matter what I think AoN and myself have come to the conclusion that these many games are almost impossible to keep up with and that you mentally get destroyed trying to do so.

I barely enjoy having more than 10 active games going. I can't imagine what a 10,000% + increase would do to me.

Yeah. I've been following this for awhile and have had games with both of you and have wondered the same thing: could I keep up mentally? Time wise it might be possible, but no matter how well a player knows a map, I figure I would need time to sit and look at it. I admire you both for facing the challenge but wonder, in the end, if it is really worth it!

It's quite obvious to me that he can't.

I realize that I was responsible for putting a lot of pressure on HA - having one game on every map means that HA sees a lot of maps that while I'm sure he knows (having completed as many games as he has), he doesn't know as well as Arm's Race or Great Lakes, which I'm certain he could take a glance at and make a solid move. Something like Japan is obviously going to require more time to study since he's seen it so rarely, and something like ConquerMan requires more time simply because to win 1v1 you need to make 10+ attacks per turn.

So far, in all ~140 games we have, over about 5 rounds (So somewhere in the vicinity of 700 turns taken), HA has missed a mere 20 against me. I'd guess that in all 1200 games he's probably around 100-120, which is still phenomenal. There's a couple where I know he missed to spend time with his son (good choice, my friend), and then there's some where he obviously was tight for time and a bunch of us took our turns at the same time against him so he had to miss one somewhere.

More than anything, I've noticed in the games where I gain a slight edge over him, he'll just deploy and end his turn (in about 10 seconds) to jump to the next game as quickly as possible, whereas under less duress he would probably try to get back into the game. It's a case of sacrificing a single game for the greater goal.

Nevertheless, bravo to both HA and AoN for taking this on, and proving the limits of CC gaming.

I dunno man, IK have missed somewhere between 26-30 turns out of about 9000. And I have been beaten by cooks. And I also have several victorys over colonels and generals. All in 1vs1 which I really really suck at.

I think HA has done better than me. He is right. Its about day two AFTER the record that it gets so impossible. I spend 20- of 24 hours one day. Stayed up all night another. Its tough. Glad I did it, and after speaking to him, I think he is too. I personally think 1500 games will be the limit of any one person. I think HA will get this in about a week. He is a monster.

I am down to 309 games and all caught up for the first time in two weeks--yippee--Now that I am totally burned out on CC.

I know AoN was officially playing more games at once, but to me it is simply incredible that HA could play this many games, missing a few turns (understandably), and giving up on games that he was behind in to make his turns faster, and STILL be a major. AoN only was a lieutenant/sargeant 1st class and he couldnt come close to keeping up his ranking. Not saying AoN is bad, he should be congratulated too, but HA's accomplishment and success just reached another level in my eyes.

I agree and always have. I believe I said HA was on a different level. I frankly suck big fat donkey ass at 1vs1's and only hold my own in other types of games.

I like HA so much as a person now, that I actually wish I had stopped at 1249 games. The record itself didnt mean a ton to me.. it was more of a personal challenge I wanted to put on myself recovering from the latest operation.

on one note, I did have the pleasure of beating HA one night at 2 am 3 days past and knocking him to teniente. =D

haha, he was at lieutenant earlier today, you guys are jumping up and down like crazy still.

I know your accomplishment is absolutely worthy of like 10000 of those special "services to the CC community medals" or whatever, but I think HA should get 10001
