Why not take out the 'mountain' name from the bonuses?
1) People will then call them what they like...hills or mountains.
2) The map still works with no confusion between the title 'king of the mountains' and bonuses for holding 'hills', and
3) Removes the horrible look of having that ugly text in the bonuses section.
This is a great looking map with some unusual concepts, that I can't wait to play.
cheers

What are you waiting for Andy, quench this map. (Or at least final forge it)
Development is a process, and I am sick of people on every single thread of every map screaming for them to be quenched and complaining that they can't play the new map yet.
If you look, you will see that after people start saying those things the maps continue to improve tremendously in most cases. So as long as concerns are still being raised and things are still being discussed the foundry process should continue.
MonRepos- this wasn't directed at you specifically, as there are many people doing the exact same thing....that's why its annoying.

Neither could I. I too want this map to be good. I appreciate all of the suggestions and advice. Here is the updated map with the bonus section fixed. I removed the "mountains" text and just have the color listed.

The King of the Mountains Map has reached the
‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be at least
two days (but may extend pass that) for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest
after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.
Post questions and concerns if any.

As long as peope are satisfied with the aesthetics, I think the playability is good, and I'm looking forward to playing it. Quench!

No other word for it:
Stunning!
I think the graphis are fantatsic.
Playability, not yet qualified to give an opinion I don't think, but I still say it looks exciting.
Well done WM.

Im not sure if this has been adressed yet, but I think the peaks are a bit to isolated. Its a bit like Maratha - Mysore - Sri Lanka on the Asia map. You would have to split your troops into two to get at sri Lanka and another area.

helipads can attack the peaks and there are like 3 of them so they aren't very isolated

I meant when attacking up the mountain, not down, as when you reach the top, theres nowhere to go, as kings cannot attack helipads.

But the kings have to defend against the helipads

They can defend. They just can't attack. The XML is setup to allow the helipads to move troops(attack/fortify) to each King. However, each King can only move troops(attack/fortify) down the mountain.
You can only defend if someone can attack. Again the Kings can only attack down the mountain, but can defend from both sides (mountain/helipads)
P.S. I fixed the issue of the green gradient under the text for the bonus.

I will upload tomorrow along with any other changes people want to see. I believe the only other issue was the army shadows. Does anyone have any ideas for those or are they OK as they are shown on the last pic?

As to the isolation, I like that kind of thing, if it's isolated it adds more strategy.

yeah, sometimes it's annoying, I see it both ways I think, but I think that most of the maps don't have something quite like this so it's something different...
