can the airfield graphic be made a bit lighter? It really pops out against the background color, making the map look flat.

POLL
8:30pm 4/1/08 EST - 2 days
Before i go answering further requests, Qwert has raised an interesting inssue re the Rommal and Panzerarmee flags.
On Version 15 below, the flags are German Afrika Corps style flags, Black and white for Rommel and Green and white for the Panzerarmee.
The green was done simply to identify a diffferent continent for play.
On Version 16, are the proper flags for Rommel and the Panzerarmee, as pointed out by Qwert.
I think that V15 flags look better for the map, and work in better with it, but i want you to decide which one you prefer.
VErsion 15.
Version 16

Surely though onbekende, the black, cream and brown for one and green, black and cream for the other works better for the design of terts and colours in the map overall.

I'm not keen on the red borders of the updated flags; and prefer your original colours.
Have you thought about merging the two, and using the colours of v15, with the shapes in v16 (ie use green and black triangles for the Panzerarmee)

In aggrement with Mr Benn's suggestions here - keep Rommel as per v15 and make Panz. green and black triangles
This would hold to the symbolism og the real flags, just with a little creative licence regarding their recreation and use in a very small and finicky situation.
EDIT/ p.s. what about turning the italian flags around so they are facing the same way as in the legend - it just seems a little odd flying that way ... i know it's not incorect, and just a matter of perspective, but, as you usually look at a flag from left to right, for the italian flag you picture green white red, it just plays with the eyes a little. (just an aesthetic thing i suppose, but one more thing would be to say that it keeps the map flowing from left to right)

Thanks for that offering asl80....
the flags in the legend are set at the correct position for reading....i.e. left to right, with the poles situated on the left.
In the map, some are reversed to give the appearance of movement making them flow behind their flag. this was done after a suggestion from the punters, but i think it would look silly for some of the other flags to fly in reverse.
Maybe i need to poll this one also....i'll think some more on it and see what other have to say.
Jolly good suggestions from you and MrBenn about the compromise....good to unlock a deadlock...will be noted!

I have fixed all the attack routes. That issue should now be resolved.
onbekende wrote:Italian flag needs to be more red then orange, the shield on it is only sporadic used
I am leaving the colours and positions of the italian flags as is. in the legend - the correct way around...on the field they fly with the wind.
Qwert has his proper flags on the map now - resulting from poll...good to see, although i still prefer the older colour versions.
oaktown wrote:can the airfield graphic be made a bit lighter? It really pops out against the background color, making the map look flat.
Done. and enlarged.
The fonts non-title have been changed to Verdana, and everything has been moved around to have consistency in the tert naming.
Hope this is more appealing.

I've just noticed this problem still exists in one place.
Red Mortar to Bir El Gobi. All the other mortars are ok as far as I can see.

sorry cairns (and qwert, i think), but i gotta give a big booooooo on the look of the axis flags.

cairns looking great!
one thing that I think might be important
on the small map especially, I'm having a hard time distinguishing the colour of the 3rd brigade and the 22nd
maybe make the 22nd mortar yellow?
I think this gives us four very distinguishable colours.
right now when I look at Panzer C and D the missiles there look very similar
