All mafia are humans. Therefore, all humans are mafia. It's simple logic!

unvote vote chapcrap for being anti-logic.

Leveled-up today :) Yes, that's good news - this isn't Final Fantasy VIII, you know. Hahahahaha... Anyway, I was stuck fighting next to an orange dog and a cat with a
megaphone sitting on what looks to be a giant stuffed animal. Ick. And I never understood why Cloud let the fat one on board. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a Doublevoter. He's certainly big enough to be two people, and has the stomach of a dozen Chocobos. No, I mean, he has the stomach to eat a dozen Chocobos. *Sigh* He ate my lunch...
Bye for now,

-Sully

Damn, I'm sure this means something -- I guess the people who actually played FF VII will have a big advantage here. As for myself, I think the last one I played was FF III or IV, so these subtle plot clues mean nothing to me.

If chocobos are part of the evil infiltrating the anarchy and you and cloud have the chocobo eater with you are you trying to tell us you are one of the heroes?

I almost wanted to cry after this post just from the butchery of flavor.

And no, it would be stupid to soft-claim this early. What purpose does it serve the town for me to soft-claim? Why would I ever want to soft-claim? That's just silly.

-Sully

I'm still wrestling with this, since it's the only thing anyone has said that isn't purely for fun and might actually be game-related. Like I said, the last FF I played was III or IV, so I'm really lost here, but I have read the plot synopsis and a couple walkthroughs and so I'm no longer completely ignorant. So, somebody who actually played VII help me out here.

The cat on a moog is obviously Cait, but who is the dog? In all the walkthroughs, the only mention of a dog that I could find was Rufus' guard-dog. Is there a scene after Rufus has his epiphany and becomes a good guy, where Rufus and his dog and Cait are fighting together? So is Victor claiming to be Rufus? And since we were warned that there might be multiple copies of the same character, is it possible that Victor is the "good" post-epiphany Rufus and someone else is the "evil" pre-epiphany Rufus?

Red XIII is a main character and probably the dog that Victor was referring to. However, I think you are misintentioned by assuming that Victor was not posting that purely for fun. Either he was deliberately trying to confuse people, or he is itching to claim. Somehow, I presume some combination of the former and latter.

I considered Red XIII as a possible dog, but there's no mistaking a lion for a dog. I can see someone switching a llama for an alpaca, but not a lion for a dog. I did, however, think that Red might be a candidate for "the fat one."

Your other theory, that it means nothing and is just deliberate obfuscation, I have also considered.

Ok, this I did not know. I suppose that's the difference between reading walkthroughs and actually playing the game.

Red XIII is a lion (or wolf) and Dark Nation (Rufus' pet) is a panther.

I'm already blown away...i could have swore red xiii was a dog. In the renaming options area i even creatively renamed him "mad dog"...because he of his brutal spinning attack...

Did not see lion coming on that one.

I am pretty sure it never says what he is. It is to be interpreted that he is a red lion (cat) OR wolf like beast (dog).

but I am pretty sure that it never actually says he is one or the other. correct me if i am wrong. So either could be correct.

Will this help us catch scum? If not can we play the game?

It shows us who is active, and who knows what about the character roles. Obviously if you know more about the game, you know which characters are likely and not likely. So yeah, it does help us catch scum.

Ok. I don't know the game at all so I am better being replaced then? I have not played any Final Fantasy.

Knowing the game can help, but you don't have to.

Besides, I'm here to answer any questions concerning mafia rules or the FFVII game/movie.

Or it's easy brownie points for an otherwise submarining scum to appear active. Knowing game mechanics will be useful when people start claiming but it has no direct effect on seeing who is actually scum unless you believe that everyone who doesn't know game flavor is scum which is a logical fallacy.

We can play the game. In fact, this is playing the game. Keeping the discussion moving is paramount. However, you don't need any knowledge.
