strange.... the thread has been moved but is still in the same place.... maybe wicked thought it was so important she wanted to highlight it with a big moved sign
It's not a tourney anymore than the previous open games callout was a tourney, as has already been discussed. If you want to suggest that be changed, use the proper outlet as has already been explained (suggestion in suggestion forum), but don't create a bogus tourney. We're not that naive.

this is not bogus tourny.
i am 100% serious about following it all through.
i amended the scoring system as per poo-maker's suggestion and i don't see that there is anything un-tourny like about it.
can i just ask for clarification upon what makes something a tournament?
i've taken the liberty of allowing all people who played in the dragoons open games play seeing as the open games are no longer running due to 'the rules'
theres no limit on people in the tournament and people can join at any point during it.
That'd be the bogus part, where they think they're being cute.
There's no official CC definition of a tournament, as we thought it would be common sense, but here is a standard definition for those of you without common sense:
tour·na·ment (tŏŏr'nə-mənt, tûr'-) n. A series of contests in which a number of contestants compete and the one that prevails through the final round or that finishes with the best record is declared the winner.

Having competed in many tournaments in real life, I can attest they all do have an end with a clear winner. An on-going series of contests just for fun or practice where no winner is defined (like the open games) would be called a league.

there is a winner at the end, the person that gets to 1 point
why dont you make the tourney an "honourable one" joey? you could award the most honourable player each match a point, and if noone was honourable, you could give noone a point.

quite true. hence the implementation of the

it may seem strange that it is for a loss but i believe that an honourable player must know how to lose as well but after further deliberation i am implementing a second change. from now on there will be a:
0.000002 points for a win
as otherwise people may use the tournament as an excuse to give their friends points
Seriously, you guys have several clan members who are actually able to put forth the small effort of hosting a REAL tournament. Just ask them to make the games for you, or host a real tourney yourselves.
this is a serious tournament and i don't like being mocked and ridiculed. i put a lot of effort into this and spent much of my time working out a unique and workable system.
can i ask upon which basis the priveleges were denied?
and as for a 'real tournament' i've done a tournament before and it was very successful but recently i have been busy hence the fact that players in this tournament will have to count their own scores.
i actually devised this tournament in my small amount of spare time whilst travelling from the dog shelter to the local oxfam to volunteer
Look, I don't have time to follow you guys around and answer all your questions in several different threads. And you making a bogus tournament, I mean, did you really think was gonna work? You are mocking the system, because your ignorant clan leader feels he is special and deserves to be treated above any kind of rules or system the site puts into place. Now, please post in the flame wars thread if you want me to respond to it, because I'm not going to reply here anymore.
