Role claiming for the sake of role claiming is scummy. Role claiming because your neck is on the line isn't. With no role claim,he is a goner for sure, but if he convinces people on why they shouldn't lynch him it would be worth it to the town to know he is important even if he is a knucklehead.
Yes but calling out another player to say "hey look at me i'm the doc" or cop or whatever is a pure scum move. hey i'm not saying no lynch here, but i think everyone is bandwagoning onto a noob isn't helping things. we need to be looking for real clues. like the one left by

ok guys one more day to lynch. If geo dosnt say anything soon its hammer droping time. if he is scum then we go after dr doctor. if he isnt then we can lay off him a little
