i everyone, i'm a frenchie and a noob here, i really like the idea of a french Map.
but the more your map evolves, the less i recognise the natural divsion of France.
thanks for your work anyway. I'll try to make sommes suggestions later.
Edit:
Here is my proposal on continent repartition. playability is still to be evaluated, but it is more acurate un threms of region repartition.
Corsica sould be in dark blue of course

I made an executive decision and decided not to go with any of the pitched fonts and picked one myself.. I really like how the font looks so unless like everyone hates it I'm not changing it.. Heres the newest update.. what I did was add country names..and shrunk it to 600 pixels wide.
To do list(At the moment):
Better the mountains and rivers(Right now they are just there for playability)
Make a background

I like the font but hate the rivers and mountains. A brown squiggle adds nothing visually appealing to the map- it only subtracts I think. You can make a much better looking mountain range than that.
Sorry if its been suggested before, but its 2AM and this is a thread I haven't read and now I'm going to sleep

Thanks for the input sully, and you gave me a great idea.. I need to make a to do list.. The mountains and rivers were on the to do list, but I didnt say it so there was no way of you knowing...
Does anyone know good ways using adobe products to do mountains? Or a good source for clip art mountains?

get rid of the linearness of the mountains. This map is slowly getting there.

I would opt for real mountain looking mountains but I cant figure out how to get to that point.

The way i do it is i search up a mountain image on alltheweb or google, take it into paint or gimp or whatever my mouse is closest to, and make it small and delete everything around it.

This map is strangely simetric.
To me, looks like red and orange continents are twin ones. Like green and brown, light blue and yellow. Is there another way to arrange the continents?

Can you get mountians that look like mountians instead of brown lines?

I would say yes and try... but I actually like the symmetry.

Whatever happened to Normandie?

Its not a postal countie.. so it wasnt part of the original map.. so it didnt get carried on to this map.
For marvaddin who is concerned about sister continents..I was thinking.. maybe you get one bonus for holding the sister continents in addition to their bonus...

Ya. The Great Siene runs straight thru it. It's partly in Eure and partly in Manche, I believe.

It's lookin good.
is there a way you could have the rivers extend naturally, and place bridges where you want access allowed? they look kinda goofy starting and stopping in the middle of the country
