Dancing Mustard wrote:I've honestly never understood that Rooster, It makes me think you post from a farm.

Please explain its significance.

He's actually a Thai Jungle Chicken.

He is sitting on a chair, fashioned from wood which had drifted in from the warm Andaman Sea.
The Andaman sea is lapping 20 feet away from this now deceased fowl. To his left, just out of sight, is an expanse of grass not unlike a traditional English village green... This nestles in amongst what can best be described as an Ewok village; thatched wooden huts, raised up on stilts to maximise the cooling sea-breeze against the searing tropical heat of the South East Asia sun.

In front of him is a simple bar made exclusively of half a split and polished coconut palm. It is stationed by a small, perpetually smiling Rasta-Thai man.. ready to pour me a large bucket of Gin and tonic.. with freshly picked and squeezed limes.. plus 2 straws.

The Cock (the most annoying bird i have ever had the misfortune to be awoken by): crowed in the evening, he crowed in the morning, he crowed at mid day, he crowed at dusk and he crowed at dawn.... This was not a beautiful and confident call to arms it was a broken tuneless heckle from an adolescent whose voice was breaking and who would never get the oportunity to sire any progeny!
Some tortured and unrested soul poisoned the little bastard and he crowed no more.

And now the Bar at which the deceased poultry sits is also no more.. returning from whence it came; shattered by the unfathomable power of the Tsunami which hit South East Asia.

So this horrendously aggravating, soulless little songbird acts as reminder of the paradox in the perfect imperfection of paradise. It signals the threat of impending doom which should prompt our enjoyment in each and every moment!
