It would be better to just make a new map... it is of course possible to have a map with the exact same specs as Classic, but that looks completely different. A good example of this is USA: take away two of the attack routes from the rockies and it's classic.
Basically what you're talking about is a map with a big central continent as an objective with side skirmishes to secure bonuses. I like it, but it needs a new theme... a city would work nicely for this. New York City: Battle for Manhattan? Los Angeles and its surrounding suburbia? London: hold all of tube zone 1 and win? Las Vegas: Control the Strip?

I'm suggesting we have a map where you win the game if you can hold the "big" continent.
I see a lot of creative things coming out of the foundry, but we're not making good use of the "objective" feature.

So seeing as how noncontinental maps are coming in quickly, do you think we should have roads?
I'm thinking a road should let you attack two countries in front or behind you (on the same road). Any ideas?

The Good ol' Hockey Game
Whenever I visit the tournament forum, I see around 20 or so sports related tournaments. And yet, there are no sport related maps. Yet.
As young boy growing up in Canada, I lived off hockey. The one thing I did more than read was play with my table hockey set. Why not have a map based on a classic table hockey board? Each (Hockey) player can have three territories; to show its movement along the board. There can be bonuses for holding a player, the defence, the wings, and the whole team. Borders will depend on who might pass to who and who would shoot on who. Passes would be two-way, but there would be a one way from the forwards to the opposing goalie.

I figure this can be based on a specific board. A classic, with all of the original players represented. Does this sound like a good idea? I would also need an experienced cartographer to help me, as this is my first map.

You know. I've always thought a Foosball Table would be the best way to get a good first sports map.

check thread

and please reply on the thread...
I just came up with an idea, SOCCER map.
I dont how to make a map so here i am posting idea only.
This idea is based on a soccer field, would be great to use for all Soccer tournaments and regular play!
This can also be a base for other sports (hockey, basketball, baseball, football, etc..) and can be used for tournaments based on these sports also.
I will try my best to describe it!
2 team with 11 players each (22 territories)
There are neutral in goals (2)
One territory in each corner (4)
Total of 28 territories
BONUSES:
Team 1: - 1 Goalie
- 5 Defenders (6 Bonuses)
- 3 Midfielders (3 Bonuses)
- 2 Strikers (2 Bonuses)
Team 2: - 1 Goalie
- 3 Defenders (3 Bonuses)
- 4 Midfielders (5 Bonuses)
- 3 Strikers (3 Bonuses)
Holding each goal gives 1 bonuses each
Holding both goals give 3 bonuses
Holding all corners give 6 bonuses
Whoever likes this idea and is willing to make a map out of it, please let me know, thread is

WWII Invasion of Italy
Doesn't look like Qwert has any plans to do the Mediterraneans theater since he's currently working to combine his two other maps. Anybody interested in working on one?
That's the idea so far. I was thinking that the green spot between the gustav and gothic lines wouldn't provide any bonus, but if you control all of Italy you'd receive an additional bonus.
Malta would be able to attack bomb areas in the Co-Billigerant part of Italy.
The Operation Torche areas wouldn't be connected to each other.

The Venetian Lagoon would make a great map.

Not that I have any idea how, nor time to make it.
