Here is the ruling on DIBS...

Initially, T4 claimed DIBS while Leehar and iAC had their match going on. When T4 withdrew his claim, iAC claimed DIBS...I had forgotten that iAC had already lost to Leehar and needed to either wait or challenge another player (since he's #2, he has to wait). Rule #10 applies.

Therefore, iAmCaffeine must wait until another player challenges Leehar, then iAC can call DIBS.

DIBS is open and a PM is being sent to the Top 4.

On another note that I just noticed...Rule #9 and Rule #10 contradict each other.

9. If you challenge someone AND win, you take over their Ladder rung. The loser will lose one spot on the Ladder.

10. If you challenge someone AND lose, you will retain your Ladder rung, but you cannot re-challenge that player until after you have challenged someone else. For example, you are #9 and challenge and lose to the #6 player, you cannot challenge the #6 player until you challenge either #7 or #8.

Rule #9 states the loser will lose one rung, yet Rule #10 states the loser retains their spot. I have never penalized the loser, so I will be striking "The loser will lose one spot on the Ladder" from the rules.

When Macbone and I were first drafting the rules and the Ladder, we wanted to create a "consequence" (for lack of a better word) for a lower seeded player when they issued a challenge and lost...Also, if the challenger is really bad (like me), you get stuck trying to beat players who have beaten you before.

Chuck, these 2 rules don't contradict each other. When you challenge someone and win, you take that person's spot and he therefore drops one rung as well as the 2 below him if you challenged the 3rd rung above you. The 3 who were above you retain the same order but are all 1 rung lower with the bottom player now in your former spot.

But when you challenge someone and lose, you don't move up. So you don't knock them off their rung and no one moves because the challenger didn't move up. So the rules are fine as stated with no contradictions.

And I managed to beat Duk which puts me at #3 so how soon can I call dibs?!

iAmCaffeine is #2 and therefore cannot challenge anyone, so he can call DIBS and did call DIBS....iAC has to wait until Leehar has played another challenge before he can vie for the #1 again...so iAC has DIBS....period.

MGSteve did not know that he could not reserve DIBS....so NO ONE is in line for DIBS until after Lee and Duk finish their match.

If you are still confused, upset, or pissy....then please refer to Rule #24.
