tragic what the simpsons has become, truly.

I haven't watched a new episode in years, ever since I had a "simpsons deathwatch" feature on my sad little myspace blog. By all accounts, there's still the occasional funny episode, but it's like waiting for moments of lucidity in a senile grandparent.

it's just the horrible fucking writing.. i mean fair enough groening probably wanted to do something else for a while but that show was a bastion of culture/wit/insight in the wasteland of 90's television, why not let it die an honourable death? anyway... this is now profoundly off-topic! georgie - did you get the jumbo pack of monki-pampers i sent ya? your collective simian-fear is a little more palatable when it's not lying in fetid heaps on the ground.

Well, when you're on for two decades, I imagine keeping things fresh becomes harder and harder. Imagine if they'd pulled the plug in like 2001, then the simpsons would be remembered like calvin & hobbes, cultural touchstone gone too soon.
