It seems that the gameplay is worked out, there are no more active games on it, and the graphics are fine, and I assume we have the xml?

I think the only thing that is needed at this point is more people to simply come here and express that they believe the map is finished and ready to play. I vote this gets moved to final forge.

Ok, I'm not a patient person so I can't take this waiting. I PMed MrBenn, and if a few other people do he will see there is lots of popular demand for this.
It isn't really neccesary, but I am really impatient.

I remember being a supporter of the map a long long time ago (before I ever stepped in to the blue shoes), and am ashamed to admit that I haven;t popped my head in here for quite some time - let's just call it an attack of jealousy at not being able to have play a game on it yet ;-)

The primary consideration is going to be gameplay-related...

I know that a number of eyes have been pouring over the map over recent months - but I'll put in a request for some gameplay people with time on their hands to have a once-over before we re-approve the gameplay.

In the meantime, I'll take the unusual step of awarding the Graphics stamp BEFORE the Gameplay one (not that the graphics were ever going to be an issue here)..

EDIT: i think everyone who contributed had the gameplay sorted out for some time now, like for nearly 12 months.
the only way this is going to be tweaked needs to happen in BETA.

In the meantime, I'll take the unusual step of awarding the Graphics stamp BEFORE the Gameplay one (not that the graphics were ever going to be an issue here)..

noted! no problems are leaping out at me so far. i'm checking relevant parts of the discussion, with a view to issuing the gameplay stamp soon. can u confirm my understanding that there are 8 start positions plus 24 normally-allocated starting regions?

Please refresh your browser...'chutes are back, as are the small army circles on the large map.
Everything should be in place for centering when lanyards is finished with the xml.

If you have any other concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

Hey cairn, sorry to bring this up, but I thought I might ask.

That symbol at the top of the map.. I've heard it's banned from a lot of German sites.. Is that really the best symbol for the map?

it was on the original map. yes it is the best symbol for the map because the location of this castle was occupied by the Gestapo in the original story, and that symbol is respresentative of a Gestapo pin.

I only bring it up because one of my German friends decided not to talk to me when I pointed him towards this map. Some of them are a little bitchy about back-in-the-day, understandably enough.

oh dear. i understand that some groups still use it as power symbol, but then throughout history various groups have used it for many reasons. But to deny that it was used (as some are doing) and getting upset about someone else using it to display history is silly, imho. i can understand there is a large guilt associated with this and that it is banned for the very reason of fear of it raising it's ugly head again, particularly in that country.
