Re: Should we crown an "Era Champion" at the end of a certain number of games?

Form what it looks like you could have several Era Champion's so would it be in more of a line of a "Hall of Fame for Era Champion's"?

I like the idea of the era champion, and I voted for 21 games. It just seems like a better number.

Agreed. 21 sounds good to me.

Yes, there would be a new Era Champion at the completion of each "Era of Games", and I would keep a hall of champions in the thread somewhere.

Perhaps once you get enough Era Champions you could run an Era Champions Tournament (or someone else can - this is a rather large tournament).

I voted for 15 but would be just as satisfied with 21.

This means you will effectively need TWO scoreboards: current Era and Overall. You get dropped if your overall reaches a certain threshold. Are you also in danger of being dropped if you finish last in the current Era? Not that the overall leader would ever slack off - but that would mean that even they are not immune to being dropped.

I voted for 21 for the exact reasoning that 21 is a good number of game (perhaps too many?) while 15 may be too short. Then again you may want to revisit once we hit 12 games ...

So what's that make, 16 for each? Shall we compromise and go for 18, or are odd numbers crucial?

Multiples of 3 are preferred because the games are created in batches of 3s.

You will be in soon, don't worry. ;) You just need to hope that the first set of three games finishes sometime soon. I will be expanding by 6-12 players with the second set of games due to the high number on the waiting list.

Okay, I have updated the results for Game Batches 1-3 this morning. There have been a handful of eliminations to this point, and so I wanted everyone to be able to see who was doing what. Don't forget, the results do not get applied to your score until the entire game is finished.

Also, the poll is split 50-50 at the moment, so I will take that into consideration, and make a decision on what to do with Era Champions in the next few days. I also hope to add several other features to the League that I think nobody will find problems with, so I won't bother you with the polls and surveys for those parts.

Is everyone enjoying themselves so far? Is the level of competition good for everyone?

Getting my butt kicked, but yes. ;)

The bugs with the site (those getting them, surf to the new DNS numbers from the bug threads, that fixes everything I've run into) are... annoying, and messing with some games.

Busy with several tourneys right now, although the biggest of them is winding down the killer huge round it dropped on us. So I'll be playing better in a few days when I can concentrate more. ;)

Yeah 21 games at a time was a lot to add on top of everything else. I think we're down to about 12 games left in that one there Kinnison.

So far so good, competition is pretty fierce in my games.

How about some escalating cards in the future?

Yep. Heh, I seem to keep running into the same few people... thought there'd be more regular tournament players than there seem to be.

The next batch of games will have some escalating cards, I promise. I am thinking that in the future each batch may have 1 flat rate, 1 escalating and then 1 no cards, or perhaps a second flat rate. I've been doing lots of tinkering with my ideas for this league and now that school is finally out, I should get things polished up very nicely.

Find me a number that is divisible by both 6 and 8, and I'll tell you. :)
