General Happy Birthday/Anniversary thread

Been wondering what to do about the profusion of Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary thread in GD.
On the one hand, we don't want to prevent anyone from seeing their happy happies. On the other hand, the profusion of these threads has gotten out of hand.
I think the best solution will be to leave such greetings up for one week, and then to merge them into this thread. The week of being up should be plenty for the target to see them, if he reads GD at all. If he doesn't, they're not serving any purpose. Either way, after a week it can be considered a stale topic and can be merged into here.
Not backdating this policy; it only starts now.

I agree; this seems like a good way to handle this profusion of such threads that will become stale quite quickly, as in one week or so.
