using international ranks is a great idea! I mentioned that. its just using actual ranks symbols for improper ranks is 'politically incorrect' and should be fixed. Use Canadian, Russian, US, English, Australian, etc. Since this is an international site then use a mix! What is wrong with that??

Enlisted means you are an NCO, which is very different from an officer Snowman.
Nonetheless, though a Marine myself, I agree that this site is enjoyed by all nations, and to make one nation's military insignia the standard is a bit much. It doesn't take much to learn the new system (yes it is confusing at first), but this is not the military, as has been said so many times in this thread. Let the symbols be.
As for adding more ranks, I think that would be awesome. It gets to be a bit of a cluster at the top, and with scores reaching the 5K mark (and there being not much to show a difference between those at the top), I think it would be great to add a few there. I'm not sure you would need to add at the bottom though. Once you're below 800, does it really matter?

Yeah, someone else already corrected my ignorance a few posts back...

I'm assuming "enlisted" means a non officer...

Cheers!
But Cheers to you as well! I will be more aware in the future.
Accurate Rank (Private, Lieutenant, etc.) Symbols

Accurate Rank (Private, Lieutenant, etc.) that reflect the rank symbol in actualitySpecifics:- For example, the symbol used now for lieutenant is actually the symbol for a major (the leaf)
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- Will give a better idea of what rank someone is just by looking at their pin.

Once you play here for a while, you will get used to what each symbol means

The ranking system is not based off of any defence forces ranking system as its our own

What he said.

I'll probably move this shortly. Don't worry, you'll get used to our own unique ranking system.
Cheers, JB

Hello,
Did you know the golden oak leaf rank image you use for "lieutenant" (O-1 or O-2) is actually the insignia for "major" (O-4), the next rank above captain(O-3)?
I don't know if you care, but it caught my eye and I figured that I would let you know.

Hey, yes, this has been pointed out many of times to us. But, due to the amount of time that we have had our ranking system like this, I believe that a change would confuse too many members that are currently here, and/or planning to return members.
I could be wrong, if someone like to correct me. Go ahead.

There was a thread about this subject a couple of years ago. And, while it would be a simple thing to correct the insignias, the Admin. is stuck on the view that, this is CC, and NOT a real military organization. Therefore, they can make the rank insignias jelly-beans, if they so choose.
That would be fine with me, but they have chosen to use "real" military insignias, but in an incorrect manner. And this is where all of the problems start for those that are better informed.
But what can you do ?

No not exactly. While there are small differences between the various military orgs. there is a common root that they are all derived from. It is common that Generals are denoted with stars, they are followed by colonels that are denoted by the Eagle. Then Majors w/oak leaf, and Capt's w/two vert. bars, and leu's with one vert. bar. CC has it's own unique ranking system.
It's just another unique feature of our favourite RISK-based game.

Nooo, why would we want to change it with all the people that are familiar with it the way it is? Also, the time wasted could be done for other things.
