wow i've missed so much in just a few hours. did i miss somewhere in there a half-decent explanation from the mods about what changed their minds? i think fitz makes level-headed points as always, and hecter made a couple good ones that were obscured by some bad logic.

i just wanna say: of course i don't have all the tools of the mods. i can't even look at the games in question b/c they were deleted. all i have is what's in this thread. so here's the best evidence imo from it:

nietzsche claims he set up these games, but was waiting til he was in the mood to start them. he logged in and looked at them, noticed someone taking turns. proceeded to write something in chat about it. still didn't feel like actually starting any turns. that alone, of course, doesn't prove anything. but w/ further evidence, it becomes a bit fishy.

nietzsche logged in 3 more times that same nite (18 June) w/o taking his turns. hmmm, lots of logging in even though he wasn't in the mood to take any turns.

then he had to leave town unexpectedly. during the next 3 days, he checked his email at least once, but had "absolutely no time" to ask anyone (clockwork, scott, etc.) to take his turns for him. imo, this is damning. you can give the benefit of the doubt, but i think you have to be naively generous to do so. nietzsche would essentially have us belief: he was sick of CC and ready to leave. he set up 50 games w/ one of his best friends here. he had to leave for the exact 3 day deadbeat period. he had time to use a computer, check his email, possibly also check his CC pm's (i can't tell his exact meaning on that), but had no time to simply pm someone to take his turns in these games.

it reeks of utter bullshit to me. although this was moved to flame wars, i would appreciate some form of explanation from the mods, as if this was still an abuse-related topic. i did not flame in the other forum or make this a personal issue, i think an honest response is in order.

but since we're in flame wars.....

Neph, while there is mountains of evidence suggesting that they were trying to abuse the points sytem, that same evidence can be explained by their "special circumstances explanation". I'm not on anybodys side, since I personally didn't investigate this, but I trust Lack and Sully's judgement. Giving them the benefit of the doubt this time, and deleting all the games involved was a fair punishment, and if something like this happens again, I'd bet that they will receive a different punishment.

thanks brian, that helps a bit and i appreciate a voice from the mod crowd.

i forgot to mention: nietzsche changed his story as well. he was gone for 5 days, then sully revealed it was 3 days. he checked his emails (or pm's) twice, then it was once or twice. it's just circumstantial. but fucksake, it was 50 freestyle 1v1's that got deadbeated, by a guy that admits he was planning on deadbeating all his games, plus tons of other circumstantial evidence.....what does it take here?

nietz, you werent so much declared innocent as you were not punished any further for lack of evidence...you had 50 games deleted...there are 100000 people that came through here...how many have had lack delete games on them...if you did this intentionally and AM was truly in the middle, youve opened her up to suspicion that will never cease, some will always consider her guilty all for some last ditch effort to fight the system...if it was truly an accident...you have done the same thing, and should have seen it coming and could have avoided it by making some moves

in the worst case scenario, AM knew what you were planning, but there certainly isnt enough evidence to punish any further...I completely agree with how the mods handled this. I think they did everything they could, but despite lack of banning, you have trashed her reputation in here irrepperably...there are some that will never believe her again.

In any case the whole thing is too bad. Another example of high ranked players in compromising situations, innocent or guilty, it is too bad

I should expect a thread would definitely be created to herald or proclaim her absolute mastery (<-those two words are spelt correctly ) as the first female ever to break 3000 pts.

I've just added another 3 usernames in my Ignore list after this debacle.
