Steels weakness Fire fire fire FIRE!!!!
it burns steel
Steels Resistant to every thing else thats why for steel when they gain a steel element all attacks loose 10 damage but their attacks don't loose the dammage. However, If we were to chose one I'd say Dragon
also steel is imune to poison
now keep in mind that by the CCG the Ghost pokemon Gastly haunter and Gangar were Ghost/poison pokemon in the vid so they had the same weaknesses in the CCG, even though they were considered psychic.
now in the CCG Wizards of the coast melded alot together so that it wasn't to complicated for the age group they were aiming for (6-12). that is why flying bacame apart of normal, ground and rock became apart of fighting, ghost became apart of psychic, and poison became apart of grass.
I agree that we need to keep things simple. So i'm fine with one resistance and one weakness. however, I think that if we do we need to keep in mind it's based on elements.
the base four Grass, fire, water, and electric. they are weak and strong with eachother. Grass W (fire) S(electric), Fire W(water) S(grass), Water W(Electric) S(fire), and Electric W(grass) S(water).
there's the fighting ghost and psy triangle (can add dark into it to)
the fly rock ground
fly bug psy... I could go on and on but id rather not.
oh and to let you know the Difference between Rock and ground. Rock was orrigionaly apart of the 8 base elements of Moon(psy), sky(Fly), rock(ground), mountan (rock), wind(?), water, thunder(elect), and dragon.

For pokemon with two types, I'd put them into one type that was most obvious. For your example, Gastly Haunter and Gengar are ghost. There can be some debate over some other ones, like Magnemite and Magneton now with steel added.

Like no damage done at all? That would make the game go so much longer because if people want all of one type and the other player has all of an immune type, they lost.

you also have to keep in mind certian attacks are of certain elements ex. water pulse, bubble, swim (all water).
Iron tail (Steel).
ember, fireweel (fire)
lick (ghost)
swift (normal)
aerealace (fly)
hyperbeam (normal)
arourabeam (ice)
these attacks do an extra 25% Dammage when used by a pokemon that is the same type in the vid and is factored in in the CCG
This means that a pokemon can be imune to a type of pokemon and still lose to it
